Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz ( and John White (

Keukeman (270) - BEST, NETHERLANDS - MAY 20, 2018
UPDATED: MAY 20, 2018 .33p bottle. Pour is hazy orange to copper. Head is thick, creamy and wild; even spilled some while pouring. Nice lacing on the glass untill finished. Nose is floral, spicy and malty. Taste is also spicy, hints of orange peel, yeast, malt, honey, wood. Decent bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky. Carbonation is high; almost too high.

Strong position in Belgian triple. Classic beer with all characteristic flawors in this style.

SamTheBarrel (867) - Vallentuna, SWEDEN - APR 24, 2018
330ml bottle poured into a Trappist goblet. Appearance is hazy orange with a small beige head that dissipated slowly. Aroma of aprocots, peaches, banana, pears and brown sugar. Taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter. Palate is full bodied, soft texture and average carbonation. Overall Chimay Triple is a great beer to sip on, definitely one of the top beers in the style.

defabant (114) - ITALY - APR 23, 2018
