COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned - 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles.
Ingredients: Pilsner malt (French barley from Champagne); wheat starch or flour (10% - 15%); dextrose (5%); malt extract (0.1%); hop extract from German Hallertaur (aroma) & American Galena (bittering) hops. Yeast & liquid invert sugar added to the bottled beer.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

kluczbork (899) - Wroclaw, POLAND - FEB 14, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 14, 2019 Bottle. Aroma- dark red fruits, figs, dactyls, raisins. Subtle caramel and barely noticeable bready note in the background. Brown, a bit hazy, with a medium, beige head and some lacing. Taste- semi-dry, dried red fruits with delicate maltiness- caramel and bread in the aftertaste. Medium-bodied, with a medium-low carbonation. No bitterness, no alcohol feeling. Solid abbey beer, there's nothing to complain about, but on the other hand, it doesn't make a great impression to me.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2019 . 75l bottle at home. Appearance - muddy red hue with a medium, frothy head. Aroma - caramel, some malts and a very faint hint of Belgian yeast. Palate - medium body, medium - low carbonation, low bitterness. Taste - brown sugar, caramel, malty (with some roastyness in the background), some yeast and some discrete spices. Aftertaste - rather short, dry, malty. Overall - a good red Belgian, quite plain, but still tasty and refreshing. A good drink.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2019 Murky reddish brown beer, white head. Bready fruit smell. Taste is rich and fruit, yeast, some hop and a good malty base. A little watery in the finish but it's really nice.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2019 Colore tonaca di frate, schiuma abbondante e mediamente persistente. Al naso profumi fruttati e malto tostato. Mediamente amara.

Textura sedosa. Carbonatación media alta.
