COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gulden Draak is a high fermentation beer with secondary fermentation. For the secondary fermentation, wine yeast is used. The white bottle, the black banner, the golden dragon and the red letters, constitute a stylish result that has no equal among the many Belgian special beers. Gulden Draak can be drunk as an aperitif or dessert, or whenever you have the time to sit back and relax. But this barley wine is also perfect with and in stews, especially the Ghent variety. It is also a plus in sauces for red meat, such as a bordelaise. It is particularly suited as a dessert beer, especially in combination with dark chocolate.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2019 330ml bottle courtesy from Johan, cheers mate! Sampled on the 1st January 2019. Impressive dumpy bottle and from the logo image I was expecting a pale coloured beer? Pours clear ruby in colour with a thin white head. Sweet malty aroma with notes of rosehip syrup and bubble gum. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts give a moist Madeira cake base with a fruity tang of maraschino cherry, rosehip syrup and fig. Slight dusty hop prickle present in the brief bitter aftertaste with Bazooka Joe bubble gum noted. Finish is malty with strong booze notes of cheap Kirsch building in the mouth, along with sweet red liquorice and candy floss notes. Not hiding that high ABV well enough though.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2019 12/23/18 (Las Vegas, NV): $5.94 330 ML bottle purchased at Total Wine & More Summerlin, poured into large snifter, no bottled date noted. Dark brown pour, incredibly rich and creamy off white head and lacing, heavy carbonation. Aroma of bread and fruity, very nice. Strong bread, yeast and fruit taste, caramel as well. Somewhat on the sweet side. Smooth, rich, creamy mouth feel, very easy drinking. Overall Excellent Belgian!!!

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2019 Pite dwa razy. I tu zaskoczenie bo to dwa różne piwne światy.
