COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gulden Draak is a high fermentation beer with secondary fermentation. For the secondary fermentation, wine yeast is used. The white bottle, the black banner, the golden dragon and the red letters, constitute a stylish result that has no equal among the many Belgian special beers. Gulden Draak can be drunk as an aperitif or dessert, or whenever you have the time to sit back and relax. But this barley wine is also perfect with and in stews, especially the Ghent variety. It is also a plus in sauces for red meat, such as a bordelaise. It is particularly suited as a dessert beer, especially in combination with dark chocolate.

330ml bottle. Deep brown amber colour, white foamy head leaving lacing and aroma of caramel, malt, bready. Taste is caramel, toffee, malty, bready, fruity, vanilla and spicy boozy with earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy boozy finish. Nicely drinkable.

Deep rich, dark fruit with a good lacing of treacle. Quaffable despite strength. A slight bouquet of wine. Excellent with dessert or post-meal.

0,33 bottle. It has a nice reddish brown colour topped with a thick pale head. There are traces of citrus, caramel, coffee and wine in the aroma. It has a sweet taste; yeast, roated malt, fruits can all be tasted and it's followed by an alcoholic aftertaste (not too strong considering the 10,5 percent alcohol volume. Overall it's a great beer for kicking back and sipping.
