Bottle in a poor light barvolo. Huge aroma that jumps out of the glass, big sweet chocolate, roast and some grain or cereal note. On the palate it is sweeter than I expected it, velvety texture and rich long finish. good stuff. Spab (4303) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 23, 2014
341 ml bottle at Volo. Pours a rubyish brown with decent sized light tan head. Aroma is brown sugar, toffee and nuts. Flavour is on the sweet side with toffee, brown sugar, a little chocolate and some nuttiness. Active carbonation. Nice. TheJester (2543) - Cavan Monaghan, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 14, 2013
341 mL bottle. Dark ruby brown with very little head. Smells big for a brown, with chocolate and American hops in the nose. Not that it smells really hippy, but you know they are there. The flavour is sweeter than i expected, and doesn’t quite live up to the nose. Nice though. Sammy (13104) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 7, 2013
Bottle at Bar Volo. Starts as a nice chocolate malt, and ending with a decent hoppiness. Good drinkability. Dark brown body with abundant white head. Good for the style, refreshing.

Really well done session brown with a well placed hop. The pour is a nearly opaque dark brown with a foamy tan head. The nose is sweet, medium roasted malts with a great light chocolate and good torrefaction. The flavor is well composed with a rich roasted malt and a sizable hop on the finsih with light citrus and a mild astringency into the aftertaste. Overall, well balanced, great flavor and fantastic malts. sergelutaba (80) - Alberta, CANADA - OCT 9, 2012
Pours a dark brown with a frothy off-white head. Leaves a bit of lacing Smells of sweet caramel with citrusy, floral hops, and a hint of coffee. Feels light on the tongue but smooth and satisfying. Flavours start with malty, dark chocolate coffee that transitions smoothly into floral, citrusy note. Aftertaste is similar to the start with a nutty chocolate biscuit flavour. I like it. slimspady (218) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 31, 2012
Brown. Nice lacing. Creamy, tan head. Nutty, vanilla in the nose. Roasted, nutty, chocolate. Slight bitterness. Leaves a hop bitterness on the palate. Medium feel. Nice and easy drinker. gramity (1710) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 8, 2012
Ruby tinged brown, tan head. Grainy hops and very muted toasty malt. Watery coffee grounds like bitterness up front is a bit off putting to me, washed out malt in the middle, hops escape in the finish with a last minute citrus note. Average palate. Actually not a bad take on a brown ale, but does very little for me personally. dresden (1581) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - FEB 6, 2012
Deep brown, near black. Caramel aroma with some roasted malt. Lots of malt, caramel and a bit of coffee in there. Some nice citrus hop bite. Really good brown ale.
