True IPA’s were high in both alcohol and hops to survive the long hot voyage from Britain to India. This makes it a big and flavour beer style. Our version is no exception. Traditional English malts and hops are used to give this copper brew a big flavour. This beer has a slightly roasted note with a strong hop bitterness and flavour.

Draught at Mill Street Brewpub. Bright, clear ruby with a small head. Aroma holds light caramel malt and herbal hop notes. Hops come though a bit more in the flavour, but not aggressively. Nice body with a good level of carbonation. It’s pleasant, but seems a little subdued to me, and it suffers a bit in comparison to Tankhouse.

Pint at the brewpub. Looks and tastes like they read what an IPA should be and went out to make one: By the blurb, they’ve swallowed that stuff about high alcohol and hop bitterness being necessary to transport an maintain beer from England to India in good condition, which I believe is currently a disputed assentation. Anyway, this is a dull caramelly beer. I’m guessing people will drink enough of fit anyway.

Ochre liquid, small head. Weak aroma of citrus. Light body, no carbonation. Taste is bitter, pilsner.

Draft at the brewery. The body is clear, the head white and of medium thickness. The aroma is very weak for an IPA, same goes for the taste. Boring.

Fat @ Brewpub. Klar guldfärgad med ett stort vitt skum. Dofter av säd, gräs och örter. Smakinslag av malt, gräs, säd och romfat. Besk och något pepprig avslutning.

piscator34 (2808) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - SEP 24, 2015
Draft at Pearson International. Pale copper in colour with medium carbonation. Flavors are of mellow hay-like English hops, orchard fruit, and full pale malts. Flavors are of pale malt, toffee, and more orchard fruit. Surprisingly watery for 6.1%. Dull.

Kauge (2387) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 20, 2015
Tap at the brewpub - admittedly, I did not take notes nor pay much attention to the beer, but was alright with a burger. No flaws, but too old-school, herbal hoppy, malt-dominated and caramelly for my liking.

This isn't the regular IPA but I couldn't understand the bartender on what IPA this is. Regardless - it's good. Cloudy yellow with foamy head. Super fruity, mild hops. Lemon and zesty IPA

FROTHINGSLOSH (9188) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2015
Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a bright orange-caramel color with a medium sized foamy off white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tart, perfume and citrus. The flavor was tangy and bitter with mixed fruity, citric and perfumey hops. Long finish. Medium body. Ok.

Copper. Woody and light. Warned about happiness but could be a bitter. Some sweetness but light with a pleasant woodiness.
