COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Roll out the Barrel: 5.0% Alcohol by Volume and 12 IBUs. A classic American lager and the workhorse of the Gansett stable. Available all year long in bottle, can and on tap! Quality Supreme: We brew our lager with six row malt, seedless hops, corn from Iowa, our lager strain (the same one the brewery has depended on since just after Prohibition), and the purest water from Lakes Ontario and Hemlock. Taste & Enjoy: This beer is brewed just right for drinking—crisp and refreshing. It’s got more flavor than other premium lagers, yet it’s one of the most drinkable beers in the world. Narragansett has the highest rating of all domestic premium lagers on BeerAdvocate.com, and received the bronze medal for American Lagers at the 2008 World Beer Cup The History: The Lager is old reliable. It was the first beer brewed by “The Original Six” back in 1890, the bestselling beer in New England from the 1930s to the 1970s, and the official beer of the Boston Red Sox from 1944-1975.

Note:
Contract brewed by High Falls Brewing Co. for since 2007, the production moving to City Brewing in La Crosse, Wisconsin in 2009 and then to the City Brewing plant in Latrobe, PA in 2010. It is anticipated that production may be returned to Rhode Island in the future.

Headbanger (4102) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - OCT 12, 2018
16 oz can (Old Rating) Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of corn, malt, and grass. Taste of the same. This pale lager was better than expected. Not too shabby.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2018 Pour from a pint can. Clear golden brew with small head. Aroma of sweet malt and corn, a little grass. Taste is sweet grain up front, corn notes, sweet through out with moderate grass at the very end. Taste is clean and well crafted, though the grain is corny I get no offensive notes. Better than most adjunct lagers and emjoyable to drink.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2018 This beer is exactly like someone bottled Pabst blue ribbon and old Milwaukee together. Has to be really cold to enjoy. The manufacturer of the can is amazing with the quick whit and putting made on honor and sold on merit for the slogan.... in all this beer cost me 5.99 for a 6 pack of 16 ounces.... if you are having a night where you need a gansett, this is your beer.

nearbeer (6065) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 25, 2018
Pint with an indecipherable canning date stamp. Pours clear topaz with a creamy film of foam on top. Nose is honey, toasted maize, spicy grass and a hint of lemon. Flavor is more of the same. Smooth medium carbonation and a near-medium mouthfeel in this slightly sweet leaning beer. This would have been a go-to brew 40 years ago in high school days if it had been available in my area.

ajnepple (8796) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - AUG 23, 2018
16 oz single can from Total Wine & More - Springfield. Clear golden appearance with a small white head. Mild aroma of grains and light adjuncts. Similar flavor, adding mild sweetness and minimal bitterness. Light and watery on the palate with a semi-smooth finish. A little boring overall.

solidfunk (10858) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - AUG 23, 2018
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2018 Fairly bland. Nasty stuff. Beer has some white out and adjunct, cloying finish. Can.

pdog555 (201) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 26, 2018
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2018 Pours amber with a thick white head. Aroma is slight and sweet. Tastes like a premium lager. Sweet malt taste with a hint of hops. Tad more flavorful than a comparable premium lager. Palate is extremely simple. Drinkable but unremarkable.

Foxbush (2265) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 10, 2018
16 oz can from a friend on Stingray Point, VA The lager poured a clear gold color with a frothy white head. Not much of an aroma maybe some crystal malts. The taste was malty with some sweet grains. Not much in the hops area. The medium body lager had an average carbonation. The finish was clean.

GregMooreNH (1121) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 1, 2018
Pours clear, pale golden with a full, white head. Aroma is caramel and grass. Taste is light caramel, warming to ever-so-faint hops and light herbs. Finish is non-existent. It's a pale lager, alright...

fellebag (1614) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 22, 2018
UPDATED: AUG 11, 2018 Can 33cl. Normal pilsener color. Aroma is leaves, hint of wood. Quite sweet taste
