COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world’s oldest hops growing area. Among the world’s most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

Aroma: toasty aroma of malt. mild wood and flower aroma from noble hops. Appearance: beautiful clear orange amber color with one-finger white head disappearing quickly. Taste: toasty, slightly caramel, citrusy, mild herb Palate: medium-light body. lively carbonation. dry in finish. Overall: very drinkable and thirst-quenching. very good for a commercial lager. an easy-going, yet not boring amber lager.

Das braune Bier ohne Schaum ist einfach nur langweilig. Von Hopfen merkt man gar nix und die malzigen Aromen erinnern eher an ein Bud light. Nein danke!

Bottle. Pours clear amber, thick white head stays. Aroma is caramelly, fruity, slightly citrussy. Taste is caramelly, slightly hoppy, some citrus, orange peel. Medium body, slightly creamy texture, over average carbonation. Very nice

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2018 Mooi helder bier. Krachtig en vol van smaak met veel verschillende aroma's die zeer goed smaken. De aroma's lijken te komen uit zowel het gebruikte hop als de gebruikte mouten. Voor een lager zeer goed van smaak.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2018 Aroma was light and balanced, and the appearance was pleasant. The amber color is really pretty to look at, and the white head was foamy and beautiful. However, this beer let down in every other category. The overpowering bitter taste prohibited me from drinking more then half of it. It was terribly unpleasant and the bitterness lasted on my palate after drinking water and eating. I would never want to drink this ever again

Pours amber with no or minimum too, white top. Aroma is hoppy and slightly acridic. Some malt notes there as well. Strongly carbonated upfront but gives way to a very nice, malty body, some sweetness and a gentle bitter finish. Superb lager.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2018 Pours clear, dark golden with a thin, white head. Aroma is light clove and hops. Taste is light brown sugar, moving to light roast and a light hop backbone. Finish is smooth roast malt.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2018 From a bottle to a glass. Pours a clear Amber Copper color with decent creamy head. Aroma is Sweet Caramel malt, earthy hops some slight citrus notes slight Orange note. Taste follows the aroma well with a medium mouth feel. Very well balanced and silky smooth mouthfeel. For a mass produced Lager it is very good! Better than I remembered.
