jjsint (4018) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 23, 2018
Bottle from the Ale Stone, Aylstone, Leicester. Orange/brown and mostly clear with a lot of visible carbonation and a cream-coloured head. Fruit loaf, malty notes, Christmas pudding and a bit of banana in the aroma. Taste is sweet with an initial sulphurous note, warming to a toasty jammy flavour near the finish. It's not a great beer, but it's a good beer. Warming, lively and English as hell.

Geiserich (4821) - Linz, AUSTRIA - MAR 19, 2018
Bottle from Hofstetten: Dark golden color, foamy white, low head. Aroma is malty, spices, some alcohol. Flavor is malty, light caramelic, spices, some pepper, cloves, some cinnamon, alcohol. Ends with a harsh bitterness. Somewhat unharmonic and some cheaper flavors.

3.2
ajnepple (8470) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - FEB 20, 2018
12 oz single bottle from Molly's Spirits. Clear amber appearance with a fluffy beige head. Aroma of toasted malt, mild herbal/floral notes, earthy yeast and light fruity esters. Similar flavor, malty and smooth with mild sweetness and a hint of bitterness. Medium body with soft carbonation and a creamy finish.

2.9
GTAEgeek (2886) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JAN 2, 2018
Bottle, shared by Joe. Pours a clear, amber color, with a small, bubbly, off-white head. The aroma is spruce, cloves, butter toffee, light rye, and green wood. Oddly bitter, with a nice, malty sweetness. Medium to heavy body, with a sticky, clinging mouthfeel. This is a mediocre, abrasive beer.

3.2

victorsampson96 (209) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2017
6% English Strong Ale - 550 ml bottle - Samuel Smith (North Yorkshire, United Kingdom). Pours a clear, dark-amber beer, with steady and coarse carbonation, and a frothy off-white head. The aroma is dark, sweet, woody and rich: caramel, blackcurrant, strawberry, orange zest, spiced raisins, iron, and oak. Simple, pleasant, smooth, and easy-drinking. (7/10)

From 22oz bottle to snifter. Pour is an amber color, thick white head. Nose is biscuit, malty, caramel, doughy. Taste is medium bodied, sweet. Finishes crisp and long on the mouth.

willisread (4723) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 22, 2017
Bottle from Old Town. Pours a clear amber with a full eggshell colored head that lingers. Biscuity malt, light toffee aromas dominate, with some faint grassy notes as it warms. More toffee on the palate, with some light raisin and fig notes. Balanced with a nice sweetness from the malt and peppery hops.

kaserov (1547) - Oviedo, SPAIN - DEC 17, 2017

thebighead (28) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 17, 2017
I like what this reviewer had to say: "This winter warmer from Sam Smith is a refreshing change from the usual sipping winter beers. It is a balanced beer with biscuit and malty caramel tastes melded with earthy Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops. At 6% ABV, it is a very approachable English style winter warmer. I found I could not get enough of this wonderful beer, so I have brewed a few clones over the years, and have one in the carboy right now."
