The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

Cheeseboard (968) - Bridgwater, Somerset, ENGLAND - JAN 14, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2019 330ml bottle at home, 2016 version. Pours clear dark brown with an off white head. Aroma: caramel, raisins, sherry. Taste: heavy sweet, dark fruits, prunes, toffee, brown sugar. Medium bodied, light carb, sweet liqueur like finish. Not hugely boozy given the lofty ABV, thought it was nicely balanced overall

BeerViking (5874) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 29, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2018 2011 bottle, pours dark brown with a fast-settling head and a sweet and malty nose with hints of cocoa and a light but distinct oxidised note. Sweet with notes of old wine, almost liqueur-ish, but again oxidised. Might make a decent aperitif, but weird as a beer.

EvanFriend (758) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - DEC 27, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2018 Very sweet, very boozy. Caramel notes, maybe some honey, a good deal of alcohol warmth. A good winter beer.

mkcmagico (406) - Mezokövesd, HUNGARY - DEC 26, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2018 0,33 bottle. Ajándékba kaptam, köszönöm. A habja gyorsan eltűnt, a színe sötét borostyán, sötét-félbarna. Picit savanykás illata van a karamell mellett, egyébként mazsolás, aszalt gyümölcsös. Az alkohol illatra és ízre is érződik. Utóízre nagyon sok aszalt gyümölcsfélét érezni, szirupos, extra édes. Igazi karácsonyi sör. Karácsonykor is ittam. Érdemes kipróbálni, de nekem túl erős és tömény.

elosop (661) - SWEDEN - DEC 15, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2018 Mahognyfärgad med obefintligt skum. Doftar lite sött, torkad frukt. Smaken fyllig, mycket söt, bränd farinsocker, sirap, alkohol. Eftersmaken lång, vinös med bränd sötma, russin, melass. Lite beska på slutet. Barley wine. Lite torr. Lagrad minst ett år.

ozzatoadisback (288) - ITALY - DEC 15, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2018 Transparent ruby red. Slightest hint of lace, immediately disappearing. Aroma has a dominant, sweet, caramel base, notes of liqueur, dried red fruits. Averagely intense (i was expecting something a bit stronger actually) and nicely clean. Taste has a strong caramel base, liqueur, dried red fruits, nutmeg. Strong, warming alcohol presence throughout, still enough in check. Again, surprisingly not too intense and possibly a bit too much on the sweet side. Dense bodied with very low carbonation, full but still quite smooth mouthfeel. Not bad, just didn't feel too interesting or refined.

Milter (1574) - Nyborg, DENMARK - NOV 28, 2018
