COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

Bottle, 0.33l. Deep amber pour, no head. Very thin layer on top. Heavy malt on the nose, loaded with caramel and candy. Judging by the nose alone, this one is going to be strong on the sweet side. Full body, soft carbonation. Thick, oily texture. Creamy mouthfeel. Taste is as expected, quite sweet but thankfully not cloying. Aroma of caramel and toffee, molasses, sugar. Herbal liquor, vague honey. Quite syrupy, mildly sticky. Notable warming alcohol presence, not so agressive in aroma itself. Medium lasting finish, sweet with some boozy notes. Overall, pretty good. It might be too sweet for some, though. Still, enjoyable brew to savor slowly on cold winter evenings. Nice one.

Butelka 330ml. z 2016 roku. Miedziana klarowna barwa wpadająca w ciemny orzech. Piana biała, srednia,o drobnych pęcherzach opada dość szybko. W aromacie susz owocowy, karmel, toffi, skórki chlebowe, czerwone jagody. Wysycenie małe, mega duża słodycz. Owocową słodycz uderza w kubki smakowe...figi,rodzynki,daktyle. W tle karmel, toffi, lekkie zioła Alkohol świetnie ukryty, piwo mega pijalne.

[email protected], Tampere, Finland. Batch 2009. Ultra-strong and balanced nuances of buttery, slightly roasted malts and dark fruits like sweet plum and fig. Bourbon is there but nicely in background. Clear, grainy malt feeling. Ultra-wide taste spectrum and medium aftertaste with dark and sweet nuances. Medium body with low carbonation. Overall, the best in its class: alcohol is well masked with superbly soaked nuts and dark fruits. 10 4 10 4 19

à la maison. Grosse claque , bière à déguster tranquillement (pourquoi pas en digestif) tellement elle est alcoolisée et sucrée. C'est presque du pain d'épices liquide ! Un must !

KegChief19 (68) - CROATIA - AUG 4, 2018
UPDATED: AUG 4, 2018 The aroma is less like a beer and more like a whiskey... the taste is pretty boozy, which is to be expected given the ABV, but still. It's pretty sweet, and generally nice, but doesn't have as much other taste as I would have liked.

Samichlaus is a real treat, the havy tones of caramel, bread, Raisins and roasted malt keeps the body very heavy. It's a very sweet beer and i'd say it's better to share it. The Palate is what really makes this one, a full minute after you drank it you still get the raisins and caramel.

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2018 Pours dark ruby and for the Aussies is reminiscent of a Bundy and Coke in sweetness. But it’s more than this. The sweetness is balanced by its slight effervescence and the smooth flow of hops. Dried fig made soft and delicious from being poached in sugar syrup. I’d like to try it with some pecorino and walnuts drizzled in honey or a dark chocolate pecan pie
