Cask at The Ship, Wandsworth. Surprised to order a Christmas ale and for it to be a pale golden bitter. Golden pale ale, with a white head. Nose is citrousy, floral, little spicy, barley grain.Taste is citrous, barley cereal grain, floral, little spice kick, biscuit malt. No surprises here. Cimbasso (891) - - DEC 10, 2014
Sampled on draught at the Flask in Hampstead. Copper colour with a white head. Good malty aromas. Pleasant taste of malt with hints of honey and berries. There is a good floral bitterness. A nice beer, but not particularly Christmassy. berkshirejohn (6491) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 29, 2013
Cask at the Waterfront, Battersea at a stated ABV of 4.5% and labelled as "Jo Jolly". A mid-amber colour, sweet biscuity malt taste, with a touch of honey; and some gentle leafy hops. Pleasant enough, but not particularly Christmasy. MissPxx (991) - Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 23, 2013
Very mild aroma. Slightly cloudy golden amber. Surprisingly honey tasting. Sweet with pleasant aftertaste.

Cask at the Alexandra, Wimbledon, 14th Dec 2010. Branded as "The Alex Christmas Ale" and labelled as 4.8%. Light brown/coppery colour with a little magnolia head. Malty standard best bitter. Solid and unspectacular. Drinkable enough. kwik-lime (1925) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2010
Biscuity, somewhat dry with a hint of fruit. Decent balance, nice enough session beer but nothing special. imdownthepub (14546) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2008
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Brown amber with sudsy head. Blimey this was a bit rough, old tired and Spooned to death. It was a mish mash of vegetable, boiled sprouts and line cleaner / detergent type notes. Yuk. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 17, 2007
Counting house. Aroma is biscuity malts, fruity and grassy hops, some citrus/orange peel character adding depth. Taste is similar, full and noit really for session drinking, but a very nice pint all the same. No sign of spice apart from the orange peel character? Cask conditioned @ FILO Hastings. I think this is my first cask youngs beer from Bedford. No acidic twang as in the FILO beers which confirmed my suspicion it was the house character and not the condition of the beers. Malty with nuts and toffee and sulphur on the nose. Lacks distinct flavours of bottle partly due to the sulphur overiding these and mellowing it out. On the whole and fairly pleasant and quite drinkable beer,.
