Draft at Aces and Ales in Vegas. On flight. Pours an opaque nearly black oil with a very small mocha head. Aroma is roasted malts, Brazil nuts, vanilla, toffee, coffee, bourbon, and tobacco. The taste is dark chocolate, prunes, vanilla, toffee, roasted malts, and a hint of smokiness. Thick mouth, creamy, full body. Very good.

Flavors of silky chocolate, creamy caramel, toffee, coffee bean oils, molasses, roasted malt and subtle rye spice. Overall, nice and smooth offering from Pizza Port. A rating.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2015 "One of the best beers of the SD trip, and that is saying a lot! Took an already pretty dang good imperial stout and smoothed out any rough edges (none really existed but still!) and amped up the awesome aroma. Great sipper!!! Like getting a BA Santas Little Helper on tap (same barrels I bet)."

Draft at Plan 9 Alehouse. Pours just shy of pitch black (brown highlights along edges) with decent layer of brown foam. AROMA of gooey fudge, sweet bourbon, dusty dark roasted malts, and caramel. FLAVOR of more dark bittersweet chocolate, sticky bourbon, toffee, creamy vanilla, and some espresso. Smooth chocolaty finish with velvety mouthfeel. The high ABV is quite well hidden here. Been quite a while since I had the regular Night Rider...this BA version is great as well. (85, 853)

Tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad and Bressi Ranch about two dozen times. Always great beige foam on black pour. Great retention for a ba beer. Aroma is Bourbon, maple, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel. Taste is same with spot on rich Bourbon character, not much chocolate but lots of bitter coffee. Palate is a tad Sticky and tad sweet. Would prefer more hoppy aggressive balance.
