Speedway Stout’s ominous, pitch-black appearance has become a hallmark of this modern-day classic. Chocolate and roasted malts dominate the flavor, supported by notes of dark fruit, toffee, and caramel. A healthy dose of locally-roasted coffee from Ryan Bros. Coffee, Inc. added to each batch brings out the beer’s dark chocolate flavors and enhances its drinkability. Despite its intensity, Speedway Stout’s fine carbonation and creamy mouthfeel make it very smooth and surprisingly easy to drink. This beer ages very well and will continue to mature for many years to come.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2019 Pours an opaque midnight brown with a nice thick tan head. Roasted malt and coffee aroma. Taste is sweet roasted malt, molasses, coffee, and some mild bitterness near the end from the roasted grains. Some alcohol warmth after the swallow, but not in the taste. Excellent impy stout!

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2019 There are enough reviews below to describe what it is like. My questions were always 'Will it be worth the price here in Australia?' and 'Is it overhyped?'. The answers are 'yes it is' and 'no it isn't' respectively. But at that price and because it is such a big beer, one is enough at any time. In fact the 440ml can is good to share after a nice dinner and dessert.

Very well balanced and nice to drink. Decent piecr of work.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2019 Aroma: ferst was coffe, then honey - oxidation, bread, after beer warm up some vegetables?, musty? Aroma it's not great. Apperance: black like black hole, average beige head. Taste: moderate bitternes, sweet finish. Should be more agressive here. Mouthfeel: alcohol warming, full body. Overall: it was well aged can, but time don't make this beer better. Ok RIS, average.
