Bottle 0.33l from ad adamnowek. Thanks Adam for this bottle finally to taste Number 8. Best before datd 28.09.19. Taste with Jezza pre-birthday beer 19.11.2017. Pour it dark brown color with medium white head. Aroma spices, pinch of 5 spice note. Taste negro candy, sweet, Belgian yeast carachter, spice at the end, after taste really candy. Not really blow my mind but still good classic. Medium to full body, fizzy carbonation, long finish.

Bottle shared at home. Ordered online from Belgium. No parking arrangements were made with actual monks. Brown with white head. Sweet toasted malts, toast, raisans, caramel, light herbs, chestnuts, brown paper bags, earl grey. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Dry feel, sweet and roasty/toasty.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Dark brown with big beige head. Light roast, figs, caramel, toffee, dry cocoa, raisins, brown sugar, cookies that were in the oven too long, light oxidized notes, red wine, brown bread, dried plums and apple. Quite fruity in a dried and soft oxidized way. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Almost full bodied with quite some carbonation. Quite nice!

More sublime than what I got. Rose aroma with prunes and a touch of smoky leather. Cloudy brown pour. Light sweet finish. Subtle and wonderfully packaged. Bottle thanks to the guys at Castro's Lounge in Toronto, who gave this to me like 5 years ago when I moved out of the neighbourhood. Symbolic end of an era. Bottle.

Bottle from Planet Beer. Deep, dark brown with reds in the body and a massive, thick head. The nose is malt forward with very genuine character. It's kinda like just smelling a bag of fresh grains. Notes of toffee, almonds, dark fruits, nutmeg. Creamy and full palate, just silky. It's sweet with suggestions of brown sugar, nuts, baking spices. Just well made, complex, and tasty.

Bread. Spice. Dark fruit. Dark maroon almost brown/black. SUPER thick sudsy head. Retention forever and ever. When it does finally fade it leaves big suds on the side of the glass. Oh. So smooth. Chewy. Dark fruit. A bit of spice. Lots of malt. Bread. Yeast. Caramel. Light floral notes. The slightest hint of bitterness and earth on the finish. So well balanced. Fantastic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mörkare brun öl med ett större smutsvitt skum. Rostade toner, choklad, torkad frukt, karamell och kryddig belgisk jäst i både doft och smak.

From Jan 2006 Poured from bottle(room temp) a deep, cloudy burgundy with a huge tannish head of foam that actually grew bigger and towered over the top of my glass.(like Mt Everest) Luckily, none spilled out. ;^) The smell is all fruity with notes of plum and peach and there's caramel tones there as well. Very complex and inviting. The taste is firstly from the foam.(it just refuses to give up) ..huge fruitiness of plums and peaches hits my palate with a nice bitterness in the background. On to the liquid...there's the fruit blended well with a caramel sweetness and just a smidgeon of bitterness and I can *just* feel a slight warming sensation from the abv. Dang, this is sucha complex brew, my words cannot give it proper justice. Bottom line: This is one classy and classic brew. If you ever see some around your neck of the woods, do not fail to grab some and if you can't find any locally, try your best to arrange for a trade or buy some online. It's too good to miss out on!!
