COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Stout brewed with Chocolate and Coffee, aged in Maple Syrup-Bourbon Barrels.

CBS was born when we stumbled upon some bourbon barrels that had previously housed maple syrup. We opted to put the same base beer as KBS, an imperialized version of Breakfast Stout, in the maple barrels and, after one taste, we knew we had something special. Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.

Backstage Series #2: 10.6% ABV
Barrel-Aged Series (2017): 11.7% ABV

UPDATED: APR 22, 2019 Bottle of 33cl from Saveur Bière (drunk in my official Barrel Aged Founders glass ^^). Pours black with medium tan head. Medium malt, chocolate, strong coffee, roasted bread. Didn't feel the maple sirup... Medium plus sweat, light to heavy bitterness, strong cooffee fell. Starting to really love imp stout!

UPDATED: APR 22, 2019 Robe brune dense, mousse crémeuse.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2019 Found a bottle at Woodmans. Perfect pour - black body with brown thick head. Aroma is syrup and alcohol. Very smooth drink. A little too sweet IMO. Still a really solid brew.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2019 Chilled bottle poured in a wine glass. Aroma: cocoa, coffee, vanilla and oak barrel. Light caramel. Sweetness. Roasted malt. Appearance: Dark brown (close to black body), thick pour, yellow head with moderate retention. Flavor: Strong vanilla flavor due to barrel aging. Caramel, chocolate, cocoa. Very bold sweetness and roasty flavor. Mouthfeel: bold body, smooth mouthfeel, sweet-malty after-taste. Alcohol scent is well hide in balanced body. Overall: though I would prefer if the body is a little drier, but this CBS is a great imperial stout to drink. The vanilla flavor is subtle but strong. Barrel-aged stout is always a great pick to enjoy alone.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2019 750ml bottle, 2018 vintage. Sweet maple syrup aroma with notes of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, bourbon, oak and a little bit of booze. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has decent retention and good lacing. Starts with rich chocolate, roasted malt and some coffee flavors as well as having a rich, full body and smooth, luxurious mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth and decadent with wonderful syrup sweetness, vanilla, bourbon, oak and a hint of warming booze that’s quite nice on this cold evening. Magnificent imperial stout.
