Steamworks Euclidean Pale Ale

Style: Pale Ale - American (APA)
Alcohol Content: 5.5%

Description:
Euclid Hall Bar & Kitchen will be tapping its proprietary beer, Steamworks Euclidean Pale Ale, on Thursday, September 16th at 5 p.m. at the newly opened tavern. Kris Oyler, founder of Steamworks Brewery in Durango, Colorado will be on hand to tap the first keg with Euclid Hall owners Jennifer Jasinski and Beth Gruitch.

The beer uses 450 pounds of premium Colorado two row barley and 150 pounds of red wheat malt from Colorado Malting Company in Alamosa. The hops are organically grown at Thistle Whistle Farms in Hotchkiss, Colorado. The yeast is from Brewing Science Institute in Woodland Park and the water is first use water from the San Juan Mountains. Thus, this is an all Colorado ingredient beer.

“We are targeting a drinkable Pale Ale that will emphasize the hop flavor and aroma over bitterness,” said Oyler. IBU’s will be in the 25 to 30 range and the ABV around 5.5%. The hop character should be floral with citrus notes.

The dominant hops varieties are Cascade and Centennial.

Steamworks Euclidean Pale Ale is the first in a series of unique proprietary beers made for Euclid Hall Bar & Kitchen.
