Muscatel barrel aged gueuze...
The Dalton geuze series was made in 2015 to show how important barrels are for lambic. For the making of barrel infused beers, it is important to have freshly emptied and active barrels. In 2015 I sourced 4 expressive barrels from different regions, and used them to age a geuze blend. I made one big blend of 1 and 2 year old lambic,and then the blend was transferred to 4 different barrels and aged for another year. This series shows how different the beers become in different barrels
- Dalton Averell: moscatel barrel from Portugal
- Dalton Jack: cognac barrel from France
- Dalton William: tawny port barrel from Portugal
- Dalton Joe: madeira barrel from the island of Madeira
All Daltons were bottled in March 2016
