Just starting a thread to discuss SAVOR Week events.

I haven’t had a chance to really research what is going on, but I think I’m looking at these. No way I can do them all, but depending on what other people are doing, I could do one over another:

Tuesday
Is anything going on this day? Neither RB nor DC Beer have anything listed.

Wednesday
Maybe CK, Anxo or Rustico Ballston. Might take it easy this night if Tuesday events pop up.

Thursday
There’s a few different events around town. I’m either going to chose DC or VA and stick to that side of the river.

-Anchor Brewing Draft Feature + Meet & Greet w/ The Brewmaster (B Side)
-The Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across the World NOVA Debut (Rustico Alexandria)

-Bluejacket & Friends: FATE Tap Takeover & Hopfenweisse Release! (Bluejacket)
-Orchard Funk Vol. 2 feat. @AllagashBrewing @AveryBrewing @BullfrogBrewery & @UplandBrewCo (ANXO Cidery)

Friday
I’m attending SAVOR. Depending on my alcohol consumption, I may do the "after party" at The Partisan.

Saturday/Sunday
Maybe hit up Churchkey in the afternoon? Sovereign? Something else? Not sure what might be going on other than the Birch & Barley brunch.

Is it just me or does this year’s savor week pale in comparison to CBC week? Not a whole lot I’m super excited about here. Only things I’m interested in is Allagash stuff I haven’t had and a couple of Lost Abbey, though these are thin as well. I’ll join a crew for a tick fest to be sure, probably CK or Smoke and Barrel on Thursday.

Maybe stone at city tap house on the Thursday also.

Only Tuesday event I’ve seen so far is Ardent/4 Hands/Two Roads at Roofers Union. Skipping the official SAVOR event unless I luck out on a giveaway.

Leaning towards Meridian Pint on Wednesday for Country Boy, and Thursday for Melvin and Lord Hobo. Maybe ChurchKey on Friday for Port/Revolution/Free Will. Probably ChurchKey on Saturday when they open instead of the brewer’s brunch.

Yeah, seems a touch paltry, but I think a lot of places went all out during CBC, so maybe this is just natural to take it a bit easier. I’m just glad they’re doing SAVOR in town. Last time CBC was in DC they moved SAVOR to New York and it was apparently a disaster (tickets were going going for so cheap, you could take the train up, attend, and take the train back for about the same amount of money as attending here).

--Wednesday--
I’d be up for Meridian Pint for Country Boy. However, I may stop on by at CK first since there’s a ton of Bruery ticks that I think I’ll want to try (so I don’t have to sell my plasma to afford the bottles). And if the line is ass long, I’ll just keep scrolling by on my way to Meridian Pint.

--Thursday--
I’d hit up that Stone event at City Tap House.... there are 6 beers on that list I haven’t had and I’m a sucker for Stone ticks. I’m cool going there first or going some other place first and then hitting up City Tap House afterward, I seem to recall that’s some of us did for SAVOR last year when we went to the Allagash event.

FYI, there’s no home games this week so any trips to Bluejacket won’t need to factor in a baseball game.

Ya, stone stuff shows up often enough but they are usually reliably good. I feel like I often forget how reliable and good place like Stone and Sierra Nevada are just because they are easy to find. But if there’s no unrated junk to tick around, those are two breweries I definitely go to.

Probably why the Savor line up sucks is because all these brewers already came down to DC for CBC and brought a bunch of stuff. A little lazy to do it again.

What I don’t understand is why Lost Abbey always just brings the same 4 beers every year. I have barely tried any of their stuff because it’s unavailable in D.C. and ever SAVOR they bring the same few bottles...

I’m about to leave work, head home, drop off the car and head up to CK for the Bruery event to get a few of those ticks in. Might head to Anxo or Meridian Pint afterwards if anyone is up for it.

Tomorrow I’m totally in for City Tap House. Up to doing that first or after some other event.

I’m about to leave the office, same deal as yesterday - heading home, hopping on metro.

Headed to City Tap House first - getting my 5 new Stone beer ticks, then I think Anxo.

Anxo looks solid. Sorry for bailing and heading back to NoVA

My liver....

Savor was pretty good this year. Crowds were pretty well dispersed. Good breweries, both from well known folks and from new breweries.

I’m still deciphering my reviews... rest should be up today or tomorrow once I make sense of them all.

Not sure if I’m going to do cleanup at CK or something tomorrow. I’ll know more later.
