I had a nice time here. It is a pretty, traditional beer café with a great menu. Imports are pretty pricy, as are special beers. I went on a weekday, and there were just a few regulars there, so I had a nice chance to speak with the owner and a couple regulars. They were friendly. Had a huge plate of Carbonara. One negative thing: I felt that the pricing was a bit vague. It ended up costing about 10 Euros more than I expected. Because I enjoyed myself, I decided not to contest it, but I seemed to be charged for an infected beer I could not drink, and also when I ordered a Pannepot Reserva for 5, was given a Grand Reserva for 7, the bottle thrown away. I had a good time, so I let it go, but if such things will piss you off, you might consider paying as you go, and being a bit clearer than I was about what you want.

looks like just a tourist thing, for when you await your train. but take the card and what do you find? all sorts of real good beers ! a couple of mikkeller, some struise, the good belgian basics ,... realy nice ! very friendly crew, too ! passed my expectations, for sure. onely the downside of this one is that i can also make a big card by typing beers in it at the cost of ’not available’... if you dont have it, dont type it. plus they dont have everything that has a price with them either... on the other hand , if you start talking to the guy you can get a beer that isnt on the card anymore ( at least, i had that pleasure ) recomended for when youre in the neighbourhood !

Very very good bar near the train station of Aarschot. From the outside you wouldn’t expect what is in the inside. A lot, a lot of Belgian beers. The normal beers but also very rare craft brews. And Charles also has a lot very nice beers from abroad: Mikkeler, Haandbryggeriet,... The owner is very friendly and helps a lot. This is really one of the best beer bars in Belgium!

One of the best-kept Belgian secrets, but I see here that it isn’t so secret after all! Hidden in plain view in the small city of Aarschot is this gem. Good ambiance, terrific service from the proprietor Charles (a kindred spirit in his passion for beer), and a selection of beers (close to 500!!) that is still growing, with a great selection of imports, emphasis mostly on European brewers. Good snackies too, when we went they were serving food and when you’re hitting the higher-ABVs it’s a good idea to have something to eat. Such a find, I cannot recommend it highly enough -- and it’s right across from the Aarschot station, you can’t miss it.

A very nice bar with an excellent selection of belgian beers and some outstanding foreign ones (for example from De Molen). Charles really knows how a good beer should taste.

Countbeer  (259) Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, Netherlands | July 27, 2010| Updated June 7, 2011
Been here last year and was amazed by the amount of great beers this café has. (There’s nothing wrong with Belgian beers, but the amazement is because a Belgian bar has so much foreign beers from the best breweries in the world, and is still growing, so I heard). For instance, beers from Mikkeller, Haandbryggeriet, De Molen, Pipeworks, Midtfyns, Founders, Amager, Nøgne ø, and more. The owner is one of the nicest persons ever met in a café. Totally devoted to his works, offered us some special high alcohol beverages, he gave us a special bottle to enjoy and he knows absolutely what he is talking about and is really funny too! This place is right across the train station of Aarschot and has a small terrace. Place itself is pretty new and looks just fine. Make sure to visit this place too, whenever touring Belgium.

Fairly large place right across from the train station in Aarschot. The beer list is extremely well chosen by a man who obviously has a passion for his craft. Unique are rare finds abound, from Belgium , Denmark, Netherlands and even the USA! It took us more than 20 minutes to figure out the first beer to order! It was an extra special pleasure to drink with his honor the mayor, and even better when Charles and his wife could join us. Definitely worth going out of your way to find this place.
