Altoona’s something of a beer desert if this is the best place to buy sixers. Giant eagle’s typically have the ambition of a Wegman’s with the execution of a Kroger and this is no different. They had 150-200 bottles with a lot of PA stuff and a refrdigerated pick 6 section which is nice. They also store way too much beer near windows for my taste. Also I’d worry about turnover. Apparently the Breakfast Stout has been here so long they’re selling it in the 12.99 pick six section. Also isn’t it a little late in the season to still have Hopslam? I can’t say I saw many demonstrations of service to speak of. In summary: Eh..

They have a good selection. They have bells founders. Other local beers. Big own six packs and build own 4 packs for better beers like Ommegang three philosophers. The guy that was there when I went knew his beer. Goo place to go.

Giant Eagle grocery store with six packs and singles (both build-your-own and bombers) of local, regional, national, and international craft brews. Decent prices for the region, and they have a very nice singles selection (better than Indiana, PA but not as good as Giant Eagle Market Districts, for example). Lots of PA micros including Otto’s, Victory, Troegs, Voodoo, Lancaster, Rivertowne, and Full Pint. Regionals include Southern Tier, Lake Placid, Saranac, and many others. Good import selection with some Belgians, Germans, and UK.
