This local eatery offers good food alongside good beers all in a Dutch atmosphere. The beer list was small as they were preparing for an AK Beer Week event. It is located in a strip mall next to La Bodega so this is a two-for-one stop.

Came here for breakfast. Stripmall, so lots of parking, and only two doors down from Bodega. Small bar in the front room, restaurant in the next room. A dozen decent beers on tap included mostly local stuff and Belgian stuff. Good Belgian bottle list too. Tasty, filling food. Worth a stop.

On my recent visit to Alaska we were doing a driving trip and stopped next door at La Bodega right after landing to stock up on beer for the tour. Needing a meal...they pointed us to this pretty good place right next door. They have some good local Alaska beers as well as some decent food. This place turned out to be a good first restaurant/beer stop on our Alaska (craftbeer) adventure.

Nice ambient atmosphere with good service. About 10 taps, ranging from local to PNW and two BMC products. Clean bar and restaurant. Beer selection was mostly good. Pretty good place, I’d come back to. I had a tuna melt that was pretty good.

Judging by earlier reviews, this cafe may have gone downhill in the beer department. Selection was average when we were there and was not worth going out of the way for considering the other places in this town...Moose’s Tooth was one of my favorites and is just down the street from Amsterdam.

Ok spot. Has a cafe feel. A handful of taps, but nothing all that rare or special. Same plaza as Bodega. Worth a stop, but in terms of selection, service and ambiance, nothing too exciting. The top Alaskan breweries/beers were AWOL and the out-of-state list wasn’t knocking me out either. They had a lot of bottles, so I guess if you’re looking for that, you’ll do better.

Café Amsterdam has beeen around for 15 years and is by far the best beer bar in Anchorage. It sports a fairly quiet atmosphere, no loud music or sports on TV. Unlike many other bars in Anchorage it’s not packed full at all times, making it easier to stop by for a beer or two. Draught beer selection is great, with lots of Alaskan craft beer (Kenai River, Midnight Sun) but also other US treats, such as Deschutes Black Butte XXIII. Excellent bottle selection too, ranging from Belgian trappists to rare German beers. Food was good pub grub, service quick and efficient and the bartenders knowledgeable about beer and styles.
