Located in a strip mall, you have to drive in a bit to find it. Moderately-sized interior, with just a few bar seats. 7 house taps, plus a dozen or so guests. Custom flights available. Beer quality was mostly quite good. Worth a stop when nearby.

Last Austin stop. This is in one of those odd planned combined residential commercial neighborhoods, at the end of a strip mall; forgot to write down suite number, but there is a placard outside. I am guessing parking can get interesting but there is an underground lot. Not busy on a Monday evening. Very diner-like inside. Order at the front. Tap list was a lot more than six beers; about six of their own and perhaps 14 mostly local guest taps. Flights available, mix and match Black Star and guest beers. I got a flight and sat at a diner table. IPA was decent, Wheat Ale was not so good. Did not try the food. Not really the atmosphere I am looking for in a brewery. Oh, they don’t accept tips as policy. Weird.

Parking is hit or miss here. Good atmosphere inside and some seating outside as well. The food was good and the beers were decent.

Cool place with vegan food options on the menu, no-tipping policy cos the workers/ partners are decently paid, neighbourhood vice and a decent selection of taps - both Black Star’s brews and guest taps of fellow Texan independent breweries. A bit out of the way but worth checking out. Great tea, coffee and ice cream next door! Visited 26.4.16 at the time of opening.

Visited here in mid February ’16 while in the area for business. Modern, open aired building with exposed beams and lots of windows. Small bar area with a walk up and order area, and casual seating all around. Have about a half dozen of their own on tap with about 20 or so guest taps mostly from Austin brewers and lots of collaborations I stuck to their beers and both were pretty solid, especially the Porter. Menu was small and tight, out of my first option - Tikka Misali - but the burger worked just fine. Kind of a hipster crowd, but nobody bothered this old geezer. They have a no-tip policy - say they all earn a living wage. Great place to try out.

Pleasant enough place; airy, lots of exposed wood. A little loud, of course; must we have high ceilings with no sound-absorption? Partially self-serve, but everyone was really friendly; the food selection was a little short, but the beers on tap had a very nice selection. A little expensive on the food side, but the fries were KILLER and the burger was good. A nice place for lunch.

Interesting place. Strip mall meets housing complex. I wish I had eaten here, the food looked very tasty. Handful of house beers and lots of guest beers, so plenty of variety. Constant long line for food, but I sat at the bar, so I was happy. Good service. Interesting place.

Visited October 2011.

First night in Austin. Interesting concept, a co-op brewery. Certain aspects of it sound nice in theory, like communism, but in reality it doesn’t work. The beers were OK, not nearly as bad as I was expecting when I heard about the 500 owners thing, but not great. They also have a number of beers to pick from so there some variety in the tap list. In fact from a picture that I took there were at least three flights of 5. Also, I did appreciate is the idea of paying themselves a reasonable salary and not forcing customers to tip. Prices were pretty good too, and the service was OK.
