80 Not many people in the early afternoon. Modern interior with patio in the back. They had 35 taps during my visit. Some less interesting almost usual suspects, but also plenty of local choices and beers I haven't seen at other places. Good variety of styles. Friendly service. Worth checking out. |
88 Probably the best execution of the "gastro pub" concept that I’ve seen to date. On the beer side this place is a true multi tap bar that works hard to keep a broad selection of styles and breweries on tap. The are also known to track down some very hard to find specialty kegs (just make sure you ask the price).
For food there are very few beer destinations in Austin that can compete with the quality and amazing flavor that is being served at Hopfeilds. The menu has french inspiration and is clearly not an afterthought but a focus of what they want to provide for the public.
Staff is knowledgeable and can help you navigate through the 40+ taps to find something that fits (or expands) your palate. The upfront bar area is a bit small but there is plenty of seating for food and a nice patio in rear of the building. |
72 My first stop before the start of RBWG 2012, with Tim and April. A small building space but plenty of seating and seats at the bar. The burger was good. Nice list of beers on tap. There tap list is linked to Taplister.com. The beers are linked to RB for review. |
