Visited on a Wednesday early evening. In downtown, so street parking only. Great selection. I found several things I would have bought had I not had to carry it in my backpack. Prices were in line with expectations. I would definitely come back if in the area.
2015-11-14. Decor is pretty typical wine shop shelving, wood floors. Cashier is friendly and helped us out with some packaging and tissue paper to help with getting our purchases home on the plane. Selection was pretty solid with lots of nice offerings from local breweries like Enlightenment, Night Shift, and decent number of imports. Prices seemed a bit high overall with lots of $15-20 large bottles but I don’t know what those normally go for in Boston. Super handy to our hotel so it was worth a bit of a premium just for the convenience.
Nice downtown bottle shop in Boston. More refrigerated stock here than others in the city, mostly for sixers. Some interesting picks here with the likes of Night Shift and other local breweries if looking for ticks. Handy for last minute shopping when jumping on a train outta South station.
Decent downtown beer store that has a nice combination of local New England beers, Euro staples and lost of rarer Evil Twin type ticks. The selection is fairly large so you can get list browsing around. Besides some NE ticks there wasn’t much new to find but it was still fun looking around. This is a decent spot if you work downtown or want a NE tick, but not a destination spot.
Nice wine shop with a good selection of craft beer along the back of the store. Lots of refrigerated 4-6 packs along with some large format bottles along the back wall. The back left corner has a nice selection of non-refrigerated large format bottles. Decent prices, maybe a bit higher than some other shops but not bad. Beer guy was very knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth a stop if you’re within walking distance.
This place is fantastic. Great management and staff, very knowledgeable and helpful. Exactly what you want out of a store, with great selection of beer and wine, the will steer you in the right direction but never pushy. The most accommodating place I have been, if they don’t have it they will find it for you, I am lucky enough to work at 1 federal st so i can sneak in all the time.
Do not let the name deceive you. Smack dab in the middle of Boston, hidden away from the dump known as Downtown Crossing on a narrow street is the Boston Wine Exchange. While it appears that their specialty is wine and champagnes, in the back of the store is quite a nice beer selection. Set against a hardwood decor is a nice array of craft beers ranging from BFM, The Lost Abbey, Element Brewing, Birra Del Borgo and Allagash. Considering their location, this place is pretty spectacular. Pretty good selection, very convenient.
