Another place I havenít rated. This one is small... the beer selection is also small, but a good collection of bombers and a shelf full of singles. Service is lacking, not that theyíre unfriendly, but thereís never an offer of help (I donít really need it anyway). You may find some things here you wonít find elsewhere in town on occasion. Pricing seems to be competitive, and sometimes better than a couple of my other regular stops. Might be worth a stop if youíre in the immediate area - itíll be a quick stop, but you may find something interesting.

Iíve heard about this place so many times, so I was looking forward to it, but I was a little disappointed. They had good beers and the guy working there was really nice, and enthusiastic about beer, which I loved. But it didnít have the selection I had hoped for. Still, if you happen to be shopping in the area (like at Whole Foods but didnít see anything you wanted there), itís easy to stop in. For those in central Charlottesville, though, there are more convenient options.

I Have not been to the downtown location, so I cannot really compare the two. I agree with dkachur about the *random selection* with *something cool* in the mix. Make sure to check in the far back left corner on the bottom shelf [its hidden away by boxes] you may just find a nice vintage bottle of something random. The old man was not as nice when I was there, kinda got the impression he just wanted me to get the hell out, but whatever, he still gave me a discount. Buy a case, even if its mixed, and you get 5% off.

This is not the beer location itís downtown cousin is. Nevertheless, it does have some good stuff. Helpful, friendly staff. They give me a 10% discount just because I work for a competitor, which is incredibly cool. Kind of a random feeling selection, and every now and then youíll find something cool. Really good sales from time to time. A friend of mine got an infected beer (the breweryís fault) and they immediately replaced it with something about three times as expensive for free. Very cool.
