Visited in October 2022. It is a long, small bar in Boystown, which is almost always crowded. They had 21 beers and one cider on tap. The beer choices were mostly local brews, which was good. The food menu looked nice. The music was booming quite loud, though. I did not have much time to spend, so I intend to revisit it in the future.

Dimly lit, pretty quiet for a Friday night but still a decent amount of people. Nice tap list, lots of barrel aged things to choose from. Not sure if that’s only because it’s FOBAB weekend or not, but solid either way. Food was pretty good, very nice fried cheese curds & meatloaf. Can get a little expensive but the quality is mostly worth it. Good service. All around a nice place to visit in Chicago.

2013: Village Tap has much improved, added 4oz. draft samples, and a quickly rotating tap selection that features regional brewpubs (Wild Onion, Emmetts, Flossmoor, etc.) 2011 re-review: Village Tap got a bum rap in the past largely due to the crowd there, and lack of great tap choices. Well, that’s all changed, and they have stepped up their game recently. Plenty of rotating taps with interesting selections, they keep a current draft list at beermenus. Falafel and hummus plates here are pretty good. When the patio isn’t crowded it feels like you’re in someone’s backyard, which is nice. Overall worth a look if you’re in the area. 3/2011: A bit better tap selection, Stone, FFF, Aventinus, Lost Abbey, a few more rotating craft taps. Bonus that you can always find current issues of Great Lakes Brewing News & Ale St. News here. Modest variety of burgers under $10 also. 2010: Looks like I manage to still visit a few times a year. Not a bad bar, just a bit of a static selection. Two Hearted, Alpha King, Metro Krankshaft are the staples here. Good hummus plate. Now that Four Moon has upped their beer selection, I rarely come in here, although it’s improving.

Visited August 11, 2013.

They have some decent taps going here in addition to the Goose and Revolution regulars. I saw some Three Floyds and some Bells. The decor is kind of 70’s looking but it was comfortable and there is a patio in the back. The service was friendly but not overly knowledgeable. Prices were decent. I’d rather walk a little further to Lincoln for a beer but this isn’t a terrible place to go if you’re in the area. Didnt try the food.

Located in Roscoe Village in Chicago. Great bar with a decent patio. They have 26 beers on tap all micro/craft, most of them local, and 30 bottled beers most of them macro. The food is barely better than bar food, but it works.

Stopped in on a recent Chicago trip. Nice draft selection and cool patio area. Food was ok. A nice place to unwind and drink a good beer.

Went here for a B-day, had Hopslam, Two Hearted, FFF stuff, Two Brothers, GI, and alot of the usual stuff. Not a bad place, it is near Lush. I’d do it again.
