We came in on a Saturday night, the loud piped music hit me like a wall of sound and I though, 'Hmmmm, no'... But raters gotta rate so we stayed. It's large, brash and a bit identikit despite the odd bone thrown to quirkiness and indivuality. The beer list is not bad but not amazing: some decent cask from breweries such as Tiny Rebel and Wantsum, some macro (Camden, Meantime) and micro (Tiny Rebel again, By the Horns) keg, and a few bottles and cans (again, solid but widely available stuff). They do like their Tiny Rebel here. I was tempted by Stay Puft on cask but opted for the Frambuzi on keg. Nice bar staff ... and nice customers as well. So first impressions can be misleading, although it's probably nicer when quieter.

Checked this pub out while visiting London (stayed in Croydon) and I have to admit it set the bar pretty high. A very nice exterior and interior on this corner lot pub in downtown Croydon. Lots of choices in bottle/cask/tap. No kids after 9:00 which was kind of a bummer for me as I had my two boys in tow (don’t laugh - they’ve seen some of the most prized breweries in the states and haven’t had a single drink at any of them!). This pub is a third of a mile from the Fresh Fields Market and an easy walk. The 119 bus runs 24 hours and runs right by this place if you’re so inclined.

Visited late afternoon on Sunday 10th April, was fairly quiet with just a few patrons at that time, a couple sporting tankards so probably the go to place for real ale enthusiasts. As well as a solid cask selection, it does sport some nice keg and bottle options. Overall is probably the best pub for selection Croydon town centre wise, interesting beers here including some local offerings and some more bespoke choices you would find elsewhere locally. Also does a decent Sunday roast.

A street corner, modern freehouse right in the heart of Croydon. Possible the most dedicated beer destination in town. Medium sized divided into different standing and seating sections over two floors. Eight cask ales, two of them on gravity, supported by a good range of craft beers on keg, many of them from microbreweries in the Greater London region. A few more beers at the bar upstairs.Crowded with relatively young people on a Friday eve (visited with Finn 27.11.2015).

Visited a few times, resembles a Hogshead style pub in decor. Reasonable range of cask beers on, in decent condition, a couple of locals and nationals in the mix and an attempt at some craft action. Staff were friendly and offered samples. Decent place.

Without a doubt the best pub in Croydon town centre, great beers, well kept, and served by friendly, quick staff. Great quiz on a Monday evening.

The Green Dragon is pseudo-rock bar located on Croydon High Street. It has 11 ales available at any one time: 9 cask (6 on the ground floor and 3 upstairs) and 2 gravi-cask from Hogs Back. On cask they always have a few Darkstar beers, the odd real cider and a variety of UK ales (Kelham Island, WJ Kings, Cronx etc). In the fridge there are a few bottled ales as well as the usual industrial lagers and ciders. Food is cheap and cheerful, akin to that served in Wetherspoons. The atmosphere is decent: a good mix of people, frequent live music, pool table, board games, book club and lots of pump clips on the wall. One of Croydon’s better venues (read into that what you will).
