Huge craft beer and import selection. Sometimes challenging to find stuff as sorted by style, but worth the patience. Two stores now in Edmonton

Tight place on small plaza. Well hidden local gem, plenty of beers from around of the world. Locals sadly sold mostly as 4 or 6 packs. That is big minus for me...limited local single choice. Service was trying to be helpful. Solid for Edmonton but could improve.

This is by far the best source of beer in Alberta. Nobody comes close to the variety. Service is excellent, staff is knowledgeable and can suggest some great beers. Also very good selection of spirits and no slouch on wines. This is the only place in Edmonton I'll buy my beer at.

Great selection, and about even with Keg n Cork. They probably have more beers than the latter, and the growler station as well. Some more interesting finds here as well. The division by style is annoying as it always is, but there are lots of singles and growlers available. Nice place.

The best selection of Craft Beer in Canada! Love the staff and the liquor/beer selection. Sometimes the music selection is a bit odd/eclectic. Slightly higher prices on certain items than can be found elsewhere due to it being a destination liquor store, and due to the staff being trained on the product. If you have a question at somewhere like Solo Liquor you’re usually met with a blank stare, whereas you’ll actually get an informed answer at Sherbrooke.

2015-06-05. It is an interesting commentary that the two top rated places in Edmonton at the time of this entry are the two bottle shops. Staff varies from a bit disinterested to super helpful. I am glad for example that I asked about Tilquin, since I was then shown the list of newly arrived bottles of Cantillon! (Which doubled the cost of my purchases! D’oh!) Prices on the most interesting stuff is often expensive, but I’m told in line with other places. The one bottle for which I did a price comparison was Boulevard which was $21 here, and $20 at DeVine. I did not care for the organization by style since I meant for example that I found De Molen or Mikkeller products in several places, which made it laborious to look things up. Bring a sweater if you plan to browse! I took long enough in the giant walk in fridge that I just about froze in pants and a t-shirt :) Only certain 4-packs/6-packs can be split up. I balked at a few hoppy things that had no dates since I had no way of knowing how old they were since I am not from Edmonton. The selection of imports was significantly better than the Alberta options overall. I suspect perhaps the better AB bottles are limited releases? Overall this was well worth a visit. Impressive selection overall. As good or better than Premier Gourmet in Buffalo which is my most local comparison. Like other stores with this many bottles, some date stickers would let you shop with more confidence.

New review (June 23, 2020): This is till one of the best bottle shops in Canada. Wonderful selection, which now includes lots of Alberta's best, an impeccable import stock and a decent US selection. If in Edmonton, do not miss this place. Old review (May 18, 2014): Best bottle shop in Edmonton and probably Western Canada. Everything is stored in a big walk-in fridge and sorted by style. Fantastic array of imports, both from Europe and the US, many of which I didn’t see at other stores. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly. There’s a growler station too, but the selection was pretty unexciting on my visit. If you’re only going to visit one bottle shop in town, make it this one.
