Always Ron’s describes itself as a Restaurant & Bar with catering service. Located in a fairly nondescript building just outside the main Hagerstown downtown square, this is a nice establishment serving fresh regional craft beers and well-prepared food. Our waitress was quite the beer connoisseur and made for pleasant conversation. The fried oysters are breaded in panko and there is a bit much detracting from the fresh oyster flavor. The hand cut fries are very nice and the rueben, the restaurant’s claim to fame, is equally nice. The place is divided as its name implies, a bar on one side and a restaurant on the other. This is a worthy stop in Hagerstown and re-energized us after our hike.

From the outside you would never guess that this place has so many good beers to choose from! There is by far the best craft selection in the area at this place,24 taps and at least 70 different craft bottles,2 words come to mind for this place SELECTION and VALUE! I will be back!

I had not been to Always Ron’s in years. My buddy had taken me here for a excellent tuna steak birthday dinner some years ago. Recently I read that they had 24 taps. Wait. What? 24 taps in Hagerstown? Yes, but it must be common macro stuff, right? Wrong. I decided to visit tonight and I am glad I did. Here are a few of the things that were on tap tonight: North Coast Brother Thelonious, Mikkeller Fra Via Til, Bruery 4 Calling Birds, Flying Dog Pearl Necklace, Dogfish Head Bitches Brew, Ridgeway Lump of Coal, DuClaw 31 The kitchen was closed (for the full dinner menu) by the time I arrived, but they still made me a crab cake sandwich which was very good. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
