72 Nice place for a pub lunch and meat pie. A few interesting taps |
82 Stone built corner pub handily situated between the station and Magic Rock taproom. A varied selection of around 8 cask & 8 keg beers predominantly from the north of England. It feels like a locals pub, always a friendly welcome |
76 Multi roomed pub just round the corner from the train station, a solid boozer that rarely disappoints. I had a couple of pints of a very strong stout that hit the spot, did notice that the ales on were mostly of the pale/blonde variety. Not in the same league as the exceptional Grove, but always worth popping into when I visit Huddersfield. |

78 Close to the train station, we've visited on our way back from Magic Rock. Traditional pub with some modern elements, almost empty in the early afternoon. Surprisingly wide selection, 8 kegs and 8 casks plus two ciders on tap. Quality wise nothing too exciting. I'd say worth checking out. |
88 A big pub about 5 mins from the station and a great selection of real and craft ales on .. |
70 Not far from the station, just inside the norther edge of the ring road. Also close to my hotel! Semicircular bar in a semicircular room with two smaller side rooms. Many Anarchy beers on tap when I visited (Northumberland) suggesting a recent tap takeover. No overlap of beers with the Grove, which was a very pleasant surprise. Worth a look. |

80 Visited on a Sunday afternoon in June. Landed during the bizarre beer festival. Good range of cask and a few keg beers on the bar. Well kept. Service good and friendly.
Found space in one of the two side rooms. Popped out in garden and sampled thirds of a few bizarre (and pretty filthy) beer for a Sunday lunchtime.
Great pub. Added bonus of beer festival was vanilla frosting on my cupcake |
