Just five minutes walk from Dang Wangi LRT station, this is the place to find German beers in KL, where you will find a bottled selection to keep you amused for a while. The terrace is quiet and very relaxing. There is an outdoor bar area and an air conditioned indoor area too. The service was great and I can’t fault the well-prepared food. It’s a short trek from the town centre but worth the effort. I will certainly return. Be aware of the early closing time though. 22:50 is early by anyones standards.

Nice place for a German beer, just a bit of an unusual location, but then again this is KL. Nothing fancy, but the staff is friendly and service is quite good. Mostly Munich beers to choose from but a nice change from the lagers served at most places in town. Prosit.

Visted October 9, 2012. Bayernhaus is in a very odd location. CapSquare is a mini-maill devoted to techie shops like Lenovo, Apple, Canon, Sennheiser, perhaps 10 stores in all. I came here via taxi and found a room divided between a small wedge area of the indoor mall and an open-air patio with canopy. With the late afternoon Malaysian thunderstorms rolling in, I decided to stay indoors and to stay awhile! Bayernhaus was limited in selection for a German beer bar - just Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr products with bottles of Thurn & Taxis lager and Averbrau Rosenheim Zwickl. The drafts were limited to the Paulaner Original lager and the Weissbier. A pony-tailed German gentleman was giving directions to his staff, as I was jotting down my notes, to the effect, I believe, that the current (and rather incongruous given the location) Okotoberfest promotion was ending after that week! Oh well, the Paulaner Original (served in their wheat beer glass) was fresh enough, and the thunderstorm outside provided a bit of dramatics to enjoy. Prices were fair; at 27.50 MYR a pint, I was looking at about $9 US a glass. Their take on German food did not disappoint. I skipped the pork knuckle and ribs for a plate of chicken, sausages and beef impaled on two generous skewers, and that was the small portion. At just over 30 MYR (or under $10 US), it was a bargain. Here’s a first for me: a bar without a restroom! I had to cross to the opposite side of the mall and go through an unmarked door to find the corridor with the toilets! The staff at Bayernhaus were very good, the food was delicious, and the Paulaner tasty, but this was just a poor location for a beer bar. There are lots of malls in KL closer to transit, and there must be a lot of better locations for a German bier outpost.

Not the most exciting of places (where is in KL?), but at least an interesting attempt at getting some decent German beer in town.

Just the two taps with a dozen or so bottles also on offer. Happy hour is two for one until 7pm. I wouldn’t eat here personally but there is a food menu if you fancy a bite. Staff were attentive and extremely chatty which was nice, and not at all overbearing. Comfortable seating in and outside. There’s construction going on across the street on the latest high rise so was painfully noisy, but no fault of the pub.

nice terrace out front with fans. Quick service. Decent range of German beers mostly from Munich breweries but also a couple of interesting ones. You can use the free wifi from Starbucks next door

In a city with very few places to knock back a few tasties, this one tends to shine. It’s got a clear focus. The service is impressive. They are attentive without being creepy, and they offer fresh glasses after each. I appreciated the selection--they had several Bavarian oddities including the Hopf beers and a few others that Oakes and I hadn’t even tried yet. Only two taps, it would be nice to see more in the future. We sat outside, on the very comfortable patio furniture. Several ladies were here solo and so it’s a very comfortable place. But it’s not a good place for people watching, it’s in a brand new development that feels sterile and fabricated. Starbucks is right next door, it’s a very new urban development feel with manufactured "community." The bar interior has a sort of trendy environment with sofas and colorful cushions. All in all I’d go back because the Animator was tasty.

Small mall-based German bar. They have mostly stuff from the Paulaner family. The selection is pretty big as these German places go, and they have a beer of the month so the selection rotates around a little bit. Probably one of the better German bars for that reason. Attentive service.
