Small dark and cosy bar with two floors. Bar of course in the bottom. Small tables and chairs in a room that seems quite crammed. Elderly audience. Lot of stuff on the walls to look at. Hunting trophees. Wood and brick wallpaper on the first floor. 3 taps. Did not see the barlist.
tl;dr Only classic (but good) Belgians.
First visited when spitting houses in Leuven. Old fashioned in any sense of the word: it’s location right next to the church, it’s brown interior with beer memorabilia and it’s beer list with exclusively small to mid sized Belgians. Must be really great if you’re a starting beer geek and/or from abroad, but the beer list won’t offer much if you live in Western Europe like me. Agreeably they do stock the good classic Belgians, like Dupont, and real lambics, but no Belgian craft/modern styles. Perhaps go the better, the atmosphere is authentic and welcoming. I could stop by here now and then for a Belgian update.
Small traditional Belgian Beer bar with stuffed animals in the window. Modern music which doesn’t fit with the character of the place. Not very helpful staff and not everything available on the menu. Disappointing place.
A cosy little bar with lots of brewery memorabilia all over the walls. Don’t know what the two stuffed foxes in the windows ore for or the Madonna statue. The wndows were wide open letting in the lovely warm air on this beautiful day. The bottled beer list was immense. It was an A4 folder stuffed to the brim. Lots of glasses so each beer could be served in the correct glass.Service was polite & efficient.
