Visited early in the day on a Wednesday, around 10 AM. Smaller parking lot is available, but there was almost nobody here at the time of my visit. The feel of this place is a lot like a big box store, but with predominantly stuff to get you drunk. They do have a walk in humidor, a deli, and an aisle of nice olive oils and mustards and things of that sort. At this one, there are 20 beers on tap at the deli. Those beers are all offered in a variety of sizes down to 2 ounces. The two ounce samples are the way to go. The majority of the two ounce samples were under $1. Unfortunately during my visit the deli bar was not being staffed. I was able to try a couple beers, but the person that got them for me could not stick around. A lot of beers from Kentucky, many of which were seasonals or one-offs. The bottle/can selection was near the humidor on the left side of the store. There is one long aisle dedicated to beer with both sides having a selection to choose from. Many 4/6 packs, large format bottles, a build your own six pack section. They seemed to me to be arranged by origin. The domestic beers were together, then the imports were all together. Somewhat arranged by state or country. I built a 6 pack, but saw plenty I would have bought had I been low on beer. This place is very nice. My only complaint is that I could not locate the mead. I assume it is comparable to the Plaudit location and I just missed it. A worthwhile stop if in the area.

Dedicated parking lot right in front of the place. Clean bathroom, 17 fairly interesting tap selection, and big beer selection. The beer in the last two rows on the far left of the store. Lots of singles, I bought around 10 singles. Prices on bottles were average. They have 2 oz., 6 oz., and growlers from the taps. The price for samples are very reasonable. They need a table and chair for people trying the samples. I liked this place quite a bit.

Huge box style liquor store. Fairly well organized and clean. Service was average. Selection is really good with lots of micros and imports, you can’t break up 6 packs but they have a section near the back with tons of singles for sale. Prices were really good on most things. Worth stopping by and seeing what they have, I left with 4 bottles.

I just do not like the idea of packing up all my bottles of wine, wine glasses, etc. etc. After spending $120 I would hope that one of the managers, none of whom are friendly or welcoming, would offer to help with boxes and wrapping. So glad Georgetown has now gone WET, because now I don’t have to put up with this lack of service!!

the places needs to better organize its beers. There are three places to get single bottles, but only one place to get BYO cases. The BYO selection is not impressive and lacks variety. Good selection of craft beers and imports, but don’t expect to find anything special. Service was helpful and present. Ambiance was pre-frat party stock-piling: kegs and handles of cheap vodka.

I’d like to see the Liquor Barns greatly expand their beer selections. It’s simply not where it should be. There are far more beers available here in Kentucky and they are not represented. Belgian selection is not adequate. Scandinavians deserve more representation. Some stock may be outdated - there is too much year old Brownings ESB on the shelf. The stores are huge, but beer only takes up a small section. Help increase craft awareness, Liquor Barn! Increase your beer selection! You can do much better.

If it can be sold in Lexington, most likely they carry it. If they do not have it, they get it for you in just a few days. They carry a great selection kegs. And I they also have a very large Home Brew area that I have started to check out. I may make the jump to home brewing very soon. And they also have their own line of beer (Sheltowee) that is quite drinkable for the price.

It looks like what it is. Supermarket feel, but great selection. You can find a good number of beers here. More than your smaller liquor or grocery store. If you want to buy Chimay or Samuel Smith’s, LB is where you go in Lexington.

Not quite as impressive as the other Liquor Barns in Lexington, but certainly not a bad place by any measure. Selection does seem to be smaller than either of the others, but part of that may be due to the size of the store compared to the others (this has to be the smallest of the 3.) Still a great place, and they’ll probably have what you’re looking for. May not be cold, but it’ll be there.

A very well stocked store. Everything is available as a single, and prices are not marked up on singles. I’ve lived in Lexington for 5 years now and still have not sampled all the beers available from this store. They have beer both on shelves and in a cooler, though not all beers found on the shelves are kept cold too. They have had a nice selection of glassware to purchase in the past, but the stock is running low and does not seem to be making a return unfortunately. There is a deli and pretty good selection of gourmet foods available. Growlers are filled at the deli as well, so call ahead and see what is on tap. This is the store I go to on a weekly basis, and they always have something exciting for me to try.
