58 The store is located on the outer limits of Merrillville in a strip mall far from the main road. It’s somewhat easy to miss. They have most of the local beers but none of the hard to get ones. Service was nonexistant; I walked past the cash registers without seeing a single employee. You won’t be missing much if you passed on this store. |
80 Stop in while staying in town. Very nice selection and staff was helpful. Was able to pick up some unrated beers I have been looking for along with some FFFs. Worth the stop for sure. |
70 Stopped in on a trip to Three Floyds. The place is in a strip mall so there’s plenty of parking available. When you walk into the store, the shopping carts are on your left and the beer aisle is one of the first you’ll come to. They have coolers of 4-packs, 6-packs, bombers, and a few other larger formats packages of the bigger brands. They have a pretty nice selection of beers to choose from, but the lambics they have advertised as available on their website were nowhere to be found. I was able to load up on some Three Floyds beer that wasn’t available at the pub, so that was a plus. There wasn’t really any form of service to be found except when it was time to check out. I don’t really mind that, though, because I usually take awhile to make up my mind of what I want. This place is pretty cool aside from the lambics they didn’t actually have. |
72 Wise Guys is a big, clean store with not a lot of distinctive atmosphere but with a very good beer selection, the best I know of in NW Indiana. Their prices seem to be, for the most part, the lowest everyday liquor store prices in the region. |
74 Nice, clean, suburban chain store type feel...so as far as ambiance, it feels like a CVS or Walgreens. One big isle of beer with the rest of the store being wine and liquor. No dust, and it seems like they are doing a decent turnover. Lots of good beer to be found with the occasional rarity. The beer guy seems to know what he’s doing and does his best to get in the sought after releases. That being said, the prices are some of the best craft prices I have ever seen. This alone makes it a must stop for me whenever I happen to be passing by. Most FFF bombers are fresh and the regular $10 ones are cold and ready for $7.50. Worth the stop if you are in the area. Close to Crown Brewing. |
78 At the end of a strip mall just at the edge of the border of Merrillville and north of Crown Point. The selection was not huge but had some good qualty brews including Boulevard Saison with Brett and The Bruery beers at a good price. I also picked up some of the Thomas Hardy 40th Anniversary ales as well. I spend around $100 in total and was happy will my haul. Will visit again. |
82 One of the best places around (for wine and beer)! Interior presents a new, clean appearance with bright lights that is quite welcoming. One of the best beer selections around, but the best part is that it has THE best prices around. Better places do exist, but I’m not sure if they exist within a half-hour drive in any direction. Not bad at all. |
82 Right across the street from the Lake County Court house in Crown Point. Really nice selection of beer, some stuff that I’ve never seen in stores, like Upland Lambics, every seasonal from 3F, and the staff is pretty knowledgable. Prices can’t be beat. For example I bought Hopslam for $14.50 and a bottle of Oatgoop for $12.87. |
74 Not a huge selection, but a quality selection. The prices seemed to be a mixed bag, but over all were in my favor. The staff was friendly and attempted to be helpful, but since my first question upon visiting a "new" shop is, "What do you have that I have not tried?" there was a limit to what they could do for me. Definitely a place to return to and a handy stop when visiting crown Brewing in crown Point. |
100 This is a new store with great prices and very friendly and helpful staff,my first experience was seeing a ad in newspaper for Founders Breakfast Stout for $9.97 and it got me in and next the next thing i know is i am leaving with the stout and Goose Island BCS FOR $14.97 A 4 pack and four of the Upland Lambics which were $12.97 each and Brooklyn chocolate stout for $9.41 a six pack plus they have many other great stuff that is priced real cheap compared to most other places i have been to.I will be a regular until i move to Florida.CHEERS! |
