I have visited this store on a couple of occasions, however not once have I purchased beer. The shop is centrally located and easy to find, it's a huge department store with a large grocery store on the lower ground floor. There is a small island (racking) which is probably what others are alluding to However with Crew Republic being the only thing that I would describe as interest to those looking for an alternative to the more usual traditional Bavarian offering, I suspect that some might be disappointed with the varierty. Whilst the Crew Republic selection is pretty good they and the rest on offer here are fairly easy to find at a supermarket like REWE. There are other places (beer shops) in the city which will offer far more choice and which are likely to be much cheaper.

If I haven’t missed a few shelves of beer (which I probably haven’t) the selection is quite poor, even for a supermarket. You’ll find the basic minimum of beers for tourists and a bit more of Bavarian beers (might also vary with the seasons) and very few international standard beers. But they do have an impressive amount of wines.

Big store for tourists with a supermarket inside where you can find two shelves of local bottles and 2 or 3 foreign beer.

This only deserves a mention as there almost are no shops to buy beer in the old town. Located in the gourmet shop in the basement. Selection isn’t great, just the major Munich breweries, some more big German breweries and some foreigns. They also always sell seasonal beers from the Munich breweries, which is interesting especially in spring, in the Doppelbock season. But as mentioned before, the number one bottle shop in Munich clearly is the Getränke Oase, not far outside the old town.

No reason to go here unless you are in a real hurry. The Getränke Oase is the bottle shop to seek out.

Sort of like the beer selection in Selfridges in London. Basement is the food section which has a small beer area. Some atypical beers for Germany. Price was a bit much, but there are a couple hard to find beers in here. Not rare ones, just hard to find.
