This very large venue is located in a cellar of a building in the middle of the city, close to the treasures of the Old Town. It has a rather kitschy, with Anglo-Saxon coats of arms and American retro advertisements hanging fro the yellow alls and yellow ceiling. Busy and noisy, it attracts large groups of Asian visitors who know little about beer and might want to think that they are enjoying true German delicacies on tap there. They aren't The beer brewed on location is truly mediocre (otherwise there is Tucher to be had in bottles). Worse than the rather acceptable food (but then I had a schnitzel, and that is difficult to mess up). Very busy staff. Fair prices given the location but not the quality. Go there for a brewery rating and leave when you can.
Huge beer hall, with a great atmosphere. The waitress was short, rude, and very overworked. Only two of their beers, plus a couple Tucher beers, to round it out a bit. The prices were fair, at least. Overall, this place was disappointing and difficult, and the beer was mediocre.
Impressive building from outside, impressive building inside. And there the impressiveness ends. Typical German brewpub, well brewed but ultimately dull beer and surly staff. Said I was there for beer not food, before I could even see a menu or sit down the guy made a signal to the bar and a large blonde beer arrived. When I explained I didnt want that and I wanted a small blonde and a small schwarz he tried to say he'd poured it now and I had to have it. When I refused he went back for what I actually wanted and practically slammed them on the table
One of the places that we had as a must in our list, but got a bit dissapointed with . Large hall, in the basement of a pretty old huge barn. Their beers are just ok, as well as the food. Service was a bit cold. Place lacks a bit more of ambiance.
