74 We found this almost accidentally, but I have to say it was one of the nicest bar/ restaurants in Plzen. Very friendly stuff, good beer and great food. |
64 Very close to the town centre, this place is worth visiting just to try the unfiltered Pilsner Urquell, only available here. You can order it in 0.3 or 0.5L pours (currently 42 and 59 Ck, respectively). Nonchalant but quick service. When I arrived, I said I was only there for beer, and the dude just brought me a 0.5L of the unfiltered, assuming that's what I wanted -- I did indeed want the unfiltered but would've ordered a 0.3L -- I dislike presumptive service. Oh well. Worth the trip for the unique, high-quality beer. |
76 Visited August 2022. Restaurant associated with the Pilsner brewery. Nicely located in the old town. Very good food and the unfiltered version of Urquell to be found here. Very good service, as some people described pokerfaced - yes but they are fast and professional. Prices good too. Must visit, at least for the unfiltered version. |
78 My 2nd time here in more then 10 years , very traditional and serving the unfiltered version of the Urquell.. |
62 One of the best pub for tasting unfiltered version of the famous Pilsner Urquell. It looks like typical czech pub. They do not have any local craft beers - only beers from Plzenský Prazdroj brewery. Prices are slightly higher, but who care if want to taste the best pils in the world... |
76 RBESG2019 - The restaurant of the beer museum, this is a bit touristic, but orders of magnitude less than Na Spilce. Menu is Czech cuisine, which all seems quite decent. Staff spoke English and German when we were there. They have Nefiltrovany on tap, which is why you come here. We also found a Brewmaster's choice tick. |
76 Of course there are tourists, Beers are in excellent condition, staff is very friendly, food looks nice. For perfect Urquell, go here. |
74 Maybe a bit touristic, but a classic in its own right. A good place to have an almost perfect unfiltered Urquell for a modest price. Only the Urquell from the wooden barrels at the brewery is better, Food looked good. Friendly service. Affordable prices. |
66 An extension of the Brewery Museum, this rather large, labyrinthine venue with several rooms and a terrace is, well, essentially a place for a beet and a meal, not for beer hunting. Beers from the city’s local breweries (PU, Prazdroj, Master) are served here, some on tap. The staff are quick and friendly. I did not try the food but it looked nice. Reasonable prices, given the market. A visit to the museum or the historical underground releases a free beer voucher, so why not go thwre? Otherwise a drinking rather than tasting place. |
88 2018.07.26 and 27. Ok, it's touristic, service is quite poker faced or bitchy (at least expression, but in places like this I don't give a crap people smile or not, as long as they do their job in proper manner), there are cheaper places regarding prices of food (on the other hand, compared to my country, everything is adequate priced in overthere), but let's talk about context and experience. Tell yourself - where else, except for a brewery and special, quite rare occassions supported by Pilsner Urquell PR, you can grab a mug of unfiltered Pilsner Urquell daily? If it doesn't make a special treat for you, special experience, and you rate some wide, but in the end all the same selection of craft beer somewhere else higher than this, then sorry, rethink yours system and values. It was treat for me. Was happy to visit, to sip the original Pilsner in proper condition. Much more hazy compared to the brewery's one, but totally lacks the depth and tannin qualities of wooden barrel. Oh, but glorious (just the aroma, when get's little bit warmer) joy. |
