Latest visit on August 1, 2017. Ate late lunch and had a few beers and a Becherovska. Though much of the staff didn’t speak much English and there were some confusion with the English translation on the menu, we were pretty satisfied with this visit as well. Food is decent to good, beer is in great shape. It was amazingly hot outside, so fairly hot inside as well, but a very nice lace to drop by indeed.
First rating: Very nice food but really did go there for the Kvasnicovy Urquell which is excellent. Make sure to visit the museum and then carry on to the brewery visit. Second rating: My third visit in four years. Has turned a bit touristy now it seems. More expensive and the food was worse, goulasch was quite crappy compared to older days. Also service was slower.
What to say about this place? It’s where you come for the unfiltered beer, if you don’t wanna go on the Disney ride that is the Urquell brewery tour. :p Also, the draft beer is here probably better than the stuff straight from the brewery tank, because it’s pressurized. If you plan on eating here, better come early or make reservations. It can get pretty crowded. Anyway, we found a table that was reserved by 20h, and with only 23 minutes left, we convinced a waitress to bring us beer and food, all of which was in front of us, less than 6 minutes after entering the establishment. Hands down! Top service! (Well, a little smile wouldn’t have hurt :p )
Quite big bar that was surprisingly noisy early in the afternoon. Quite boring tap list to be honest. Sure they have unfiltered Urquel, but you kinda expect that from a place like this. We did not stay for very long.
Went here after the brewery tour and before the Viktoria Plzen match. It was mobbed with fans drinking in preparation for Vrba’s last league match as coach. Its a typical Czech boozer. Warm and inviting. They’ve got the Nefiltrovany on tap though and that’s a HUGE draw. The food was decent. You can get PET bottles to go. The staff were happy to oblige. Viktoria made short work of Pribram.
