Lively place packed with students on the thursday late evening we visited. Good tap menu of about 15 to 20 Rogues. Nicely decorated with Rogue merch, and we thought that the fireplace was a nice touch. We had only one beer here because we were en route to the hotel after a long day of drinking. Expensive though, 5.50 for a pint. Service was friendly enough. Not bad, not great.

Nice place, right on the PSU campus. Gee, my school never had a place like this.... 20 or so taps, about half regulars and half limited stuff. They also had three ciders for the CiderCon PDX event. Had a sampler -- 4 x 5oz for $7.50. A full menu of homegrown Rogue items (creamery, etc.). Quite noisy, with all the students shouting over the loud rock music on the sound system and a busy trivia game going on. In any event, it’s not a bad choice for this part of town, where there are not so many good beer spots.

Big place on the PSU campus with an old school brewpub ambiance. Mostly populated with PSU students doing shots of old crow and people who live in the apartment building above. This gives the place a bit of a cheers vibe despite being an outlet for an established regional brewery. Friendly staff. Big selection of Rouge ales with all their widely available beers plus a lot of smaller scale offerings and seasonals. Plenty to try. I didn’t think the prices were so outrageous as others here. You pay the same for Rogue anywhere else. Decent burger, plus they have tots.

Standard rogue joint. Populated by overblown conversationalists studying for their undergraduate degrees. Over priced for their mediocre beer. The food is pretty pricy, but decent pub fare. It’s close to class, but not somewhere I would visit if it weren’t for that convenience.

A large room under an apartment tower in the heart of the University district south of Downtown. Obviously, students make up most of the crowd and the bar itself does not have any particular charm. Still, they offer a vast array of Rogue Ales albeit at steeper prices than other pubs around, but it’s not like that does not already exist in the classic NW address. Perhaps worth hitting for Rogue fans who are staying in the southern part of the city, but otherwise, we appreciated the NW Rogue more for its warmer atmosphere, more interesting location and more characterful patrons.

College bar serving lots of Rogue on tap. Friendly, knowledgable staff. Usually selection of Rogue beers, though probably not quite as good as the place uptown. Good if you’re in the area, if not, go uptown.

Another great Rogue drinking hole. They have that great Rogue selection. Great service when I was there but it was fairly empty. A small but nice touch they added was having dried hops as garlands and jars of their signature malts for smelling (or tasting I imagine). There were games to keep you interested. As usual the prices were very high. I don’t know why Rogue is alwas more expensive than anyone else. I mean, $5.50 a pint? C’mon guys, it’s good but not quite that. I respect Rogue for what they do but you will pay for it. Anyway, this was a real nice brewpub when you are down in the southside of Downtown PDX.
