Located in an industrial part of town, but with a nice river view. Good place in the summer. The place was still pretty full. They offer around 12 beers on tap, bot seasonal selections and all year brews. 4 oz. samplers are available. The beer is good, and they have been around for 20 years. I did not eat there, but they do offer a full menu. Service was friendly and prompt. I would go back any time.
Great atmosphere in a rundown part of town but like I was warned by locals the beer quality was disappointing to say the least. The APA was marginally better than the mass lager producers! The Golden IPA at 7.0 abv was bland as was the 6.0 porter. A shame as I liked the bar as a whole.
Located in an old industrial warehouse district so it looks a bit like an old warehouse. Except this one has a massive patio overlooking a rail yard. Breathtaking! Of course we wonít inside which was oddly deserted on a Saturday Night. They had 10 things on tap and most of them were not particularly compelling. Didnít have the food. I wanted to like this place but I didnít mainly because the music was turned to torturously high levels which made conversations difficult.
Average brewpub, great patio area was packed but the inside was deserted. Weird. Beers are competent , but pretty standard. Didnít try the food. As another reviewer pointed out, the more adventurous Hardywood is going to take over if they donít step up their game.
They let a group of us park our vehicles there while we road our bicycles around town for a couple of hours. Then we came back and indulged in food and drink. OK... we indulged in drink, food, and drink.
My favorite is the Legend Brown Ale. It has all the great taste of a brown ale without the bitter, hoppy aftertaste.
Best part of the visit was the large deck, overlooking a rather scruffy railroad yard, and the river and downtown Richmond beyond. The beers were not bad, if a bit unadventurous, and the food was similarly unexciting. Consensus around town was that Legend needs to up their game now that Hardywood Park is in town.
