70 Free dedicated parking right in front. I was never asked for help and was there a while. Selection is a couple rows of beer on the right coming in. I bought a couple bottles. Pricing seemed going rate. |
76 Really solid selection. Not the best ever, but one of the better I’ve seen in Michigan. Definitely the best I’ve seen in the area. |
66 Came across this store when I was on the road. Found a decent selection but nothing out of the ordinary. |
94 This is my current favorite place to buy beer. I mostly look out for single 12 oz. bottles, and these guys have the best selection I have seen, and it rotates frequently so it is kept fresh and there is always something new I want to try. It’s true that the beer is pricey, but a lot of that beer is hard to find elsewhere. I haven’t seen Hitachino in single bottles anywhere else, so I’m willing to pay $5-6 for an Espresso Stout. They have a nice variety of local beers, such as Shorts, Dark Horse, Oddside Ales, and Bells, as well as beers from other states and countries. Where this store really shines is in its 22-25 oz. bottles, of which it has a massive selection and variety. My biggest complaint is that it can be touch to pick out what I want. There is also a nice selection of 4- and 6-packs, as well as variety packs. Red Wagon Shoppe also has a large selection of wine, and a fair selection of meads. There’s something here for everyone. |
74 Good local bottle shop. Stop in here a couple times a week. It is one of the better shops in the area. |
46 I only go here if I absolutely have to. The service is awful. There is only one person who knows their stuff (I believe his name is Paul), the rest of the staff doesn’t care and misinforms their customers.
I was looking for a rare-ish beer recently, and had gone in and called throughout the week. I was told the estimated date of delivery and that there was a two beer limit per person by Paul. I called day of delivery and was told that the shipment had arrived with the beer. When I arrived, I was told that I could not get the beer because my name was not on "the list." Not once in my whole interaction with Paul or the rest of the staff was I told about "the list," or it’s necessity to purchase the beer. The manager made me wait 30 minutes in the store until Paul got there. Another employee even told him to call Paul, but he refused. When the he finally arrived, he then, for the first time, told me about "the list." After making him go through "the list," it turned out there was one left unaccounted for (keep in mind I waited in the store for 30 minutes for Paul to look a stack of paper that any other employee could have done, but didn’t).
I ended up paying $3 more then at another shop in the area, and even $1 more then their sister location.
Needless to say, I am extremely underwhelmed with this store. Yes, they have a good selection of beer, but I would much rather spend my money at any other place in town then here, unless they are the only option.
They really need to rethink how they treat their customers, because they have a lot of work to do to regain my business. Stay away unless you can’t find it anywhere else! |
94 Very nice store, my favorite place in Rochester to find new beers to try. Very good variety of 6 packs, 12oz singles, and a pretty huge selection of (pricey) 20+ oz singles. If you can find the same beer somewhere else in town it will probably be more expensive at Red Wagon, but if you want to find something new it’s the best. |
76 little pricy but they have a huge selection of wine and beer. great service stayed open late for me . |
90 The store is extremely clean and well kept, pretty good atmosphere. I have no complaints about the service, I haven’t really needed them that much because I usually know what I want, but no complaints there. The selection is nothing short of outstanding, everything I want is there, sure there’s a bias to Belgians but that’s not a bad thing. This place is a bit pricey but I’ll forgive due to the selection. |
84 Really nice place, visited this afternoon for the first time. Was actually expecting to a much smaller beer selection, so I was excited to see such a great selection. Oddly enough I felt like they were lacking on the local beer (Michigan) front. I walked out with a Dogfish Head and Shiner Ruby Redbird. Giant selection of beer, liquor, and wine. Easy parking, and nice and clean inside. Would have liked to see more beer out of the coolers, and a bigger variety in the build your own 6-pack selection. |
