Axel’s Bonfire - St. Paul

Good restaurant but not necessarily a great beer place. The food and service are good. The beer is mostly bigger name "craft" brewers but the selection is pretty stable without much change to the line up. It can also get pretty crowded on the weekends. There are better beer places to go to with in a few blocks of here.

A few craft beers, common Bells & Surly, Blue Moon. Taps do not seem to rotate, and there are not that many of them. This place was a great time when they had dueling pianos, but those have been gone for a few years and it is not what it used to be. Menu is solid, and less expensive than other Axel’s locations. Overall, no reason to go here for beer. They have a good happy hour at least. If you are out for a night on Grand Ave, it is worth a stop. The crowd is a little older than Billy’s across the street.

Great restaurant and a fun spot on Grand in St. Paul. They have a few decent tap beer options - a couple of Bell’s, a couple Surly, Fulton, Summit, and others.
