Visited on a crowded Tuesday evening in late January 2017. The place was quite dark and with a fairly young crowd. The selection was nice as was the service. I only had one beer before returning to my hotel, The Lafayette.
Dark interior with long picnic tables throughout. I was there around halloween so they were playing some interesting old style creepy videos on their big projection screen- kinda fun. Loads of good beer on tap from mostly the local area but I feel like some out of region stuff was on, too. I originally thought it was going to be pretentious but after being there a few minutes it turned out to be real comfortable and brought me back the next day, too. Overall, a pretty great tavern. Worth a trip.
Visited on a weekday evening. The location is fantastic right in the middle of North Park with lots of other interesting stops nearby. Inside is very cozy and comfortable with a local, but welcoming vibe. They have a great beer list with at least 4 or 5 Automatic beers on tap and a few of the more obscure San Diego county breweries that I didn’t see anywhere else in town like Artifex. I didn’t try the food, but it looked good. This seems like a great place to post up for the night, but I was on a ticking mission at the time. Overall, a very solid place.
Tiger! Tiger! is completely legit. They have an extremely well curated beer list but still create an awesome laid back and neighborhood vibe. I love the service model with a well staffed beer line at the end of the bar (from what I saw no servers) and an open kitchen. Despite being busy, the bartenders took the time to chat with us beer dorks sitting at the far end of the bar near the entrance. Tiger! Tiger! felt very homey, and they have one of the best local beer lists in the city. I can’t wait to return and try their food.
Super comfy place (though the benches are a bit low for tall people...). Nice selection of beer, with probably more than half the taps being locals. Upscale bar food that is slightly over-priced. Knowledgeable order-takers (there’s no traditional bar, more or less). What you want a neighborhood bar to be.

We visited this pub on 3rd of May 2014. Located in the North Park, not far away from Hess Brewing and Toronado. Owner is the same as of Blind Lady / Automatic Brewing. They have two bars, one specialized only on IPA’s. Nice dark ambience. Good beer selection, although I am not a big fan of the Automatic beers, but plenty of guest beers. They served the Green Flash Pilsner in a 1 Liter Mass (Stein). Food was great, we had Bratwurst with Sauerkraut. Overall a really good beer bar and we will come back.
After my experiences at Toronado down the street, this place was much needed salve. While the draft list wasn’t quite as extensive or deep, the food was some of the best quality and best value in beer bar food I’ve ever had. They had killer sandwiches, including vegetarian and vegan options. The music was good, the overall crowd vibe was lively and friendly and the beer garden was a cool place to hang out. I think if they can get a few more quality drafts from some of the more obscure and time tested breweries in the area, they’ll really have something here. The Automatic beers weren’t worth pursuing, in my opinion.
