No Longer In Business

Ordered from this online shop for the second time last week, and I cannot complain at all. Delivery happened within the normal lead time one can expect. Admittedly, the use of bubble wrap and polystyrene beads seems exagerrated, but they did ensure my bottles arriving in one piece. I was a bit charmed by the fact that they added a couple of American beer mats in my first order; in my next order, I even found a free surprise beer I didn’t even order (and did not even know yet), to my great delight... David is clearly very passionate about specialty beers and their range is both extended and eclectic. Will surely order again from them in the future.

Nice selection and nice people. As I pick the order on site on a public holiday, I cannot complain. But the fact that on the day I picked started a sale and I was not included was not so pleasant. But the selection is nice, with a lot of craft beer from around the world and the prices are good. Might order again.

I’ve had the same experience as EricKok. Mixed feelings: good selection of multiple countries, good communication via email, but slow delivery. I must also admit it wasn’t completely their fault, because before I found out I could change the language on the website to English I had already ordered and, because I don’t speak French at all, had apparently said I would pick up the beer at their store. So I got an email about this and changed it, but delivery still took quite a while. As Eric said, a couple of weeks at least. Also IPAs seem a bit old indeed. Nonetheless, I would order again since they have interesting beers.

Did a huge order from their webshop, with mixed results. Selection is very extra extensive, including many craft beer brewers from around the world. Was very pleased with that. Even more pleasing is the price point, which is generally good to even great. I found French beers who are cheaper than in France and even American imports are fairly priced. However, not everything was great in my experience. Delivery was extremely slow, first before the packages was sent and afterwards the delivery itself. It eventually took more than 3 weeks. Not fully their fault (apparently there was an issue with the delivery company) but certainly don’t expect a short delivery time. Packaging was okay (nothing broke) but I’ve seen better. All the plastic... I rather see paper because of the eco footprint. Finally, although everything arrived as ordered, most IPAs were a bit older to even very old. The Kernel beers were even past ’best before’ date. Not nice! Overall a mixed experience. At least the response to my mails was fairly quick.

Excellent webshop. Possibilité de récuperer la commande sur place. Personnel sympa. Parfait pour les bières étrangères, les belges sont un peu chères (si on habite en Belgique).

Livraison rapide, bières extrêmement bien emballées, bon choix et des nouveautés régulièrement, suivi des commandes, bilan un très bon site de choix de bières!!!

Probably the best place to get imported beers in Belgium. Or the best one I’ve found so far, anyway. Constantly evolving panel of available beers, at a very reasonable price. Delivery delays are acceptable and the beers are very safely packed, together with leaflets from the breweries etc, usually. Lots of interesting discounts now and then. I received my third order two weeks ago, and I sure hope to get more in the future, great website!

Créée en avril 2012, Beer City n’a cessé depuis lors d’étoffer son offre. Proposant au départ une sélection de brasseries britanniques, belges et italienne, le choix s’est développé de plus en plus courant 2012. On y trouve a présent une très belle sélection belge et internationale, à des prix assez intéressants (en particulier si on va récupérer sa commande directement chez lui). Quelques noms au hasard : Brewdog, Thornbridge, Harviestoun, Schneider, Sierra Nevada, Anchorage, Brasserie des Garrigues, Mikkeller, To Ol, 8 Wired,... J’espère que David trouvera l’entrepôt/magasin de ses rêves très bientôt, ce qui permettra de diversifier encore plus le choix en 2013!

Not sure what to say about the shop ... maybe, hands down my best discovery of 2012 for beer stores in Belgium. Selection is still growing but the place carries a lot of breweries that you cannot find anywhere else in Belgium with always quality beers and a regular flow of new brews. I have personally found everything I wanted and keep going back for more with many little gems abound. David is passionate about what he does and although the service is set to be by post, I usually decide to go pick up my packages close to his work. Prices are more than fair with great deals occurring every now and then such as getting a free Westy with a package or getting discount on pre-orders. In terms of ambiance, I reckon the shop is mostly online. I have the chance to meet David for orders so I cannot judge how shipping works but the format used for Belgium are well known shipping options, and it is always nice to meet and chat with people who share the same passion for beers. A great addition to the Belgian beer landscape especially in Wallonia that stands alone from what other places offer. Definitely a new top place for me to buy beers in Belgium with the likes of Geers, HopDuvel and Willems. Beer City runs regular deals with 5-10% discounts that offer many opportunities to visit the site on regular basis.
