Can’t believe I haven’t rated this place yet. A nice waterfront restaurant with it’s own in house beers. Beers are very average at best and it is definitely not a place focusing on the craft. However it is some ticks and they do a flight that is reasonable. Worth a stop if visiting the area, but just for the ticks and view.
Visited first time on Friday June 19, 2015. Arrived about 4.30 pm, fairly busy at the restaurant. More of a posh upscale hotel restaurant that happens to have beer, brewery is not in sight. Waitor didn’t seem to know a lot at all. Had a pizza that was decent, but not more than that. Not really good service. Beer were pretty boring to bad. Not a place I’ll go back to. Nice view from the terrace though.
Nice little bar / restaurant within a hotel. I didn’t try the food and only went for the beer, and man was it horrendous. Almost all of the 7 I tried were undrinkable, skunky vegetal-like drain pours. 6 oz of each was way too much. And at $14 for a 6-beer taster, I wasn’t impressed. Service was friendly enough, but quite lackluster - took forever to get my beers and bill. Never coming back here.
My wife and I had lunch here on a July afternoon. In warm weather, the patio is beautiful with lots of shade from the sun under trees and table umbrellas. The view of the boats and water is wonderful. Food was not bad, especially the salad my wife enjoyed. The beer is quite poor. They have a six glass taster on the menu, which I tried, but most of the beers in it tasted watery with an unpleasant sameness to the flavour of each.
The bottom line on this place is as follows: Beautiful view of the water from the restaurant and patio, decent food, and below average beer. They had 8 beers on tap the day I visited and offer a 6 glass sampler, 6 oz each. All of the beers were a bit lifeless, watery, and plagued almost uniformly by a papery note. None of them were very different from one another. Service was great. A nice place, but not for uber beer nerds hoping for something special in terms of the beer selection.
A nice restaurant in a hotel on Granville Island, the beers were just alright, but the food was pretty damn good and the view was quite relaxing from the patio. I just had a couple of apps, but they were really tasty, specifically the smoked salmon chowder and the chili squid. For a touristy area, I have gotten better service here than anywhere else that I have been. Extremely friendly, got a sampler, but the bartender was nice enough to throw in samples of the rest of the line up for free.
A classy restaurant that happens to brew some OK beer. Though the view is limited to a few table, it is georgious of the Bay. The place is modern and attactive to tourists, with a nice large fishtank. Very busy in an off-tourist time, I still got to sample the wares and the bock seasonal and the pale were the drinkable ones this night.
With its sprawling False Creek patio, Dockside is a welcome way to spend an afternoon. Sure, you’re not going to get the best beer in the world, but the brews are quirky enough to keep visitors interested and happy to sit for hours. The food happens to be very good here. Try the appetiser of saganaki-style cheese; the smoked salmon pizza was always a hit if that’s still on the menu.

Beers are generally lacking in drinkability...uninspired recipes, dirty yeast...I mean they’re not drain pours but they’re not good. Food I’ve had was so-so at best. Lots of wood finish, which works well in cool weather and a big patio by False Creek for the warm weather. I mean, you can spend an hour or two here, but not if you want a tasty beer.
