72 Went here to pick up a 5l mini keg of Bells two-hearted. Nice selection, no singles however. They have some nice beers, most prices are good some of them are outrageous though. Beer staff is helpful and parking is easy. Watch for old beer. |
70 A local gourmet grocery on Wisconsin Ave. accessible by the Friendship Heights metro. Was my local when I lived in the area. For a while they were without a beer buyer but the son of the owner seems to have taken over. Aside from running the most obnoxious twitter feed I’ve ever encountered he seems to know his stuff. Stocks all of the local favorites: Founders, Bell’s, Green Flash, Troegs, Victory, plus a nice assortment of Belgians. They get in just about every special release that comes to the area. Prices are very good, probably the most reasonable in DC. Free parking, plus a full grocery at your disposal (including a pharmacy downstairs). Don’t bother with the staff, they’re all Ethopians who don’t speak English. |
80 Great selection, great prices, free parking, need I say more? |
78 Solid store in NW DC for beer. Usually have a solid selection and good prices(for DC area pricing). |
52 Meh. Street parking was fairly easy and the beer selection was nice. Cramped store, but it looks like there’s some cool things in there. Beers are very overpriced and the staff is surly. Disorganized beer selection. |
64 Stopped by on my way to visit New Jersey in January. Nicely lit grocery store with a solid atmosphere except that it’s quite small and cramped, especially the beer area. Good luck if you have a cart. Service was fine. Everyone was friendly. Nobody asked me if I wanted help or ever talked about beer. Selection is probably good for the town/area, but definitely nothing special. I was just happy to find some Goose Island after living in FL so long now! Average prices. Overall, probably a good place to stop if you’re in DC and need some good beer. |
66 Decent grocery store, lots of beers both macro and micro. A few interesting things and reasonable prices. Overall, not worth going out of your way for. |
76 A nice, tiny neighborhood grocery store with a fairly impressive beer selection, given its size. The aisles are tight, so do not pass gas or a bottle may fall off. Prices are reasonable, and they have the largest collection of Goose Island that I have seen in these parts. |
46 Crowded and with employees who either didn’t speak English or had no idea of what they had, Rodman’s was a disappointment. Maybe Chevy Chase Liquors IS more expensive than Rodman’s, but I suspect their selection is far superior (one type of Founders??). I guess the moral of the story is don’t go to a gourmet grocery when what you really want is a beer store. |
84 Great place that I surprisingly had never been to while growing up in DC. I had a nice long talk with Dave and he kept pointing out supremely high quality brews, that I pretty much have had, but was pumped to see him talking up the good stuff and not pushing things that are highly priced. Saw new batch of Weyerbacher Riserva and a bunch of other cool stuff. |
