They have a decent selection of 10 taps with more coming supposedly. North American and European microbrews. I had a new rye beer from Bear Republic (Ryevalry) and an Aventinus. No bottles to speak of. Service and food were pretty good. Prices were so-so but i wish their menu were a smidge cheaper. They also had a happy hour with your choice of standard nor*cal micros which was a good value.

Looks like someone beat me to rating this place!! Finally had a chance to stop by while I was in Oakland. At 3:30p on a Wednesday and I was literally the ONLY one in the restaurant, besides the 3 or 4 staff. This place is a postage stamp. Probably nearly as much seating outside as inside. The waiter said it usually gets hopping around 5p, which I can believe as I’ve driven past before and all outside seating is packed. Ordered a Po-Boy Sandwich. Was interesting in that it had oysters, coleslaw and avocado, along with the aioli dressing, all things that I like, just not sure about the avocado in there. Served with fries. Beer list was fairly large, especially considering the size of the place. Waiter said they have about 60 beers not available for purchase that they save for Wednesdays when they bring them out for tasting for those that are already in the restaurant. Street parking across the street with 2hr parking and NO METERS!! Will have to try it again sometime.

I’m surprised nobody’s rated this place yet. I stopped by on a whim on my way home from work and I’m glad I did. To my knowledge, theres no other place quite like this in the area. Its a tiny little Belgian cafe, and I mean tiny. No bar, just a few small tables inside and a few more in the patio area in the front. The decor is like a trendy European cafe. They have some bottles and beer signs around, its a pleasant place to have a beer. The selection is somewhat predictable. Nothing really exciting, but they do have some Belgian styles on tap that I haven’t seen anywhere else around here. Kwak, Tripel Karmeliet, Three Philosophers, Allagash Black, Harviestoun Old Dubh 30 yr. and some local specialties. They also had a big bottle list with quite a few countries represented. But again, nothing you probably couldn’t find at a good bottle shop. I imagine the Trappist would be the main competitor for this place since they seem to have a better selection. But I think the relaxed cafe setting, with a nice menu (I didn’t try the food) will carve out a different niche for this place. The prices were reasonable in my opinion, and the friendly service was a big plus. I would like to go back and try the food.
