58 Pretty typical spoons, well-appointed interior, open areas and quieter nooks. Staff efficient. Menu standard JDW fare. Large range of beers as per JDW policy. I always have breakfast here when I stay in the Portland Arms, as it’s right opposite. You can’t beat 4 ticks for breakfast! |
56 Fairly bland Spoons, range was very mainstream. |
98 Dobrá hospoda s asi nejlepšimi cenami v Cambridge. |
66 A pretty standard Spoonies. They have about 10 casks, priced at about £2 per pint. Selection is as you might expect for JDW; that is, mostly bitters and goldens with a smattering of ESB and, if you’re lucky, the occasional porter or stout. There are carpets, there are low ceilings. The free wi-fi is useful. While it isn’t a long walk to get here from central Cambridge, I can’t imagine it would be worth the 10-minute walk (give or take a few minutes) for most people. I happen to be a connoisseur of Spoons pubs and, as such, was obligated to visit; the casual punter would likely delight as much - if not more - in the more central pubs of Cambridge. Anyway, the cheapest beer I had all day was at this place. |
