78 27 house beers on tap and 8 guest Belgian beers. High ceilings. Lots of wood. Brick walls. Beautiful staff. Great central city location. Food is great. Overall awesome, except beers are mediocre. |
72 Decent stop for a beer, mostly their own, but a couple of good guest beers. Very good service. |
64 Another hotel/brewery, kind of like Spinnakers, but downtown. The beer was okay. Didn't try the food. A worthy stop on your Victoria beer trail. |
76 2019-08-14. Big space, with nice exposed brick and beams. Covered sun room/“patio”. Seems like 15+ of their own beers and another 15+ guests? Guest taps are mostly BC craft. I just now noticed the digital TV menu. The four house beers we tried are just okay to decent but they have a good range of styles available. Super friendly servers. Several big booths and some long tables. We chose a comfy booth vs the crappy metal chairs outside in the sun room (the standard cheap bar chair now it seems). Nice bar. |
55 A large old hotel with nice interior brick and the bar at street level is reasonably pleasant. Service was quick enough and they have around 15 of their own beers on tap, many of which are okay. Very central and easy to find which makes it a good stop if you're downtown and don't want to go out too far. |
72 Stopped by for a quick brew. Didn't do any food. 11 brews of their own plus about 8 "friends" brews. Pretty nice. |
70 I only stopped here for one drink so a bit difficult to rate properly....nevertheless it seems a decent enough place in a good location of downtown Victoria. They have a few different sitting areas and happy hours later in the evening are nice to see. The one beer I had was pretty good but we didn’t try food. The service was good. The place had a nice vibe but fairly quiet on the Sunday evening we visited. |
70 Cool spot. Older building with good charm. 11 house taps and 2 guest taps. 12 guest cans and 5 guest ciders. Very good selection of various breweries. Food was quite good. |
74 New review: with their latest remodeling (Jan-Feb 2019), this place has now been totally revitalized. Beautiful new bar, modern, and clean, with screens displaying the extensive beer list: almost 20 house beers and more than 25 guest taps. Flights of 4 available for $10.75++, a bit pricy, but acceptable for the place. Their house beers have improved considerably, having skillfully executed many disparate styles. Very friendly and astute service. This is now one of the highlights in Victoria.
Old review: little hotel brewpub in the heart of downtown. They do flights of 4 for $10, which is okay. They had 12 house beers on tap when I went, one of which was a standout (the dry hopped citra sour). Beer itself isn’t great overall, but it’s competently and cleanly brewed. Comfy, old-style feel to the pub. Nice place to chill out downtown and worth a stop. |
50 The pub is a bit too old in style. There are way too many waiters (remember that you pay for them!). At least the noise inside is not loud. I’ve been there also 6 years ago, and yet the beers are all the same! No evolution. |
