Denver Bike Cafe in Uptown operates as a cafe/bike repair shop until 5pm at which point it switches over to serving beer. Yea, total hipster joint. The ambiance is very cozy and chill with comfortable seating, exposed brick walls, great non-overplayed tunes on the stereo. The crowd gathered here on a Monday was 20-30 somethings all sociable and happy to be visiting. All of the 10 taps and dozens of cans are from Colorado breweries. There were a couple things on that I hadn’t seen anywhere else yet, like Odell Barrel Thief. The prices are great, especially considering the neighborhood. There were a few quality $4 pint options. Most everything was $6 or less, even the barrel aged, high alcohol stuff. On Mondays they take $1 off all drafts so it was a bona fide bargain. The bartender was great, very personable and attentive. I had a great time here and will try to return at some point.

Interesting place. If you’re looking to get your bike fixed and have a beer or a coffee, it’s your place. I guess you’d call it hipster. Friendly enough service and a small but respectable beer list, lots of less obvious choices than most other places in town. Comfy local place that one might hang out if they lived in the area.

This is an odd combination of bicycle repair shop, coffee shop, and bar. I guess it’s more of a café that serves some beer rather than a bar. The bicycle repair center / work station is on the right side of the room and the counter and tables on the left. The whole thing screams hipster but I guess that’s alright. I didn’t check to be sure but I can only assume that the bulk of their work is on fixie bikes. I don’t drink coffee so I skipped over all that. The tap list is small but they advertise that each tap is dedicated to a style, which I like. I also like that the beers they put on are a bit more obscure than the mainstream stuff found all over town. I still haven’t made it to Wit’s End yet but they had a beer of theirs on tap here along with something from a place called Yak and Yeti. Then there was the peach grand cru from Great Divide that I had tried the night before at Falling Rock. They have a ton of cans to choose from and I guess on certain nights they discount them to $2 per. I could see stopping in for a quick tick every week if I lived close by but as it is (travelling from half way across the country) I probably won’t be frequenting this place. I also didn’t eat here but from the sounds of it I didn’t miss much.

Stopped by on a quiet Saturday night. A quirky bar with bench seating and a small but interesting tap list plus a few more cans and bottles. Excellent wi fi. Shame it closes at 10pm which is the reason why it was a lot less busier than it might have been. I would return. It’s my kind of bar.

Stopped in on a Saturday night during GABF. Pretty quiet but a nice vibe with a good tunes and an interesting selection of 6 drafts -- all Colorado beers. Definitely worth a visit.

Fun open air coffee shop cum beer bar cum bicycle repair shop. Hipster vibe to the max. Small, but unique tap list featuring obscure local brewers. Snooty bartender I was warned about was actually quite nice and accommodating. Quick service. Nice patio to sit outside. Quite atmosphere where students come to study so be weary of getting too loud and obnoxious or people will be eyeballing you. Looks like they were selling some good looking sandwiches, but I didn’t try any. My only qualm is that the hyper local, nano brewery focus of the small tap list left the selection without a really "good" beer. It was mostly okay to not good stuff. There is a bottle list that looked like it was only canned craft beer for some reason. Iced coffee was good. Looked like they also had some pastries.

Very cool bicycle cafe, with coffee, beer, and a bicycle mechanic that can perform any type of service you need for your bike. 99% of the beer selection is from Colorado, but it includes a ton of offerings from smaller breweries that aren’t widely available elsewhere, pretty cool. I think they have one or two out-of-town selections, and a few different food items, but as discussed below, you can bring your own food, as well. Probably the best part is the cup of joe. Bottomless cups of coffee for $2, and the baristas are great. The vibe here is pretty laid-back and very hipster at times, but everyone is friendly and it’s always a good time. Definitely a must-see in the Denver metro area.

Super delightful spot, a little rustic in a dilapidated sense, but also reminds me of a very old Victorian bed-and-breakfast kitchen. Lots of picnic tables indoors, a long long bar, and large open windows. The bike repair area doesn’t get in the way while adding to the whole bike-shop feel, making a pint feel even more special, like it’s in a friends garage. They have some exceptional coffee that’s always from CO, but the house coffee is swell too, and you can choose how it’s brewed. The beer is a fine selection for so few choices, picking mostly the underdog startups from around town that you can rarely find outside the home brewer. Only 6 taps but they’re more interesting than some of the 20+ tap places.

Finally a bar in Denver where they offer something other than the same 10 beers you can find at a hundred other places in town. All draft beers are local from small breweries, and though there’s a hipster vibe, the staff limit the attitude and are actually open and engaging and willing to share and learn themselves. Probably my new go-to bar in Denver. They only have 6 taps but they are more interesting to me than the 50 at a place like Freshcraft or Amato’s or Falling Rock.

This place opened about a month ago, not far from Vine Street Pub - it’s a combination coffee house, bar and bike repair shop (a combination that will hopefully assure their success) - spacious interior, with a lot of bar space and communal picnic tables, if you are feeling social, or counters along the windows and small tables along the parameter, if you are feeling antisocial - they serve Pablo’s coffee here, which is a local micro roaster that roasts a pretty mean bean - these folks also make a great cup of coffee with those beans (they make a much better cup than Pablo’s themselves) - pricey (a large to-go coffee will set you back 3 bucks) but heavy, rich and smooth (it will probably take you an hour to finish it) - however, if you stay a while and drink-in, you can get bottomless coffee for two bucks, so it pays to stay - cans and bottles of some local brews - only six taps, but they focus mostly on showcasing product from start-up breweries in town (Copper Kettle, Denver Beer, Renegade, Strange), plus a few local staples (Dry Dock, Great Divide) - there are shockingly few bars in town showcasing beer from these new breweries - in that respect, they are a great spot for sampling what some of the new breweries in town have to offer without traveling all around town (these guys are also currently the only place outside of the brewery where you can buy Copper Kettle beers) - in some cases, the beers are cheaper here than at the breweries themselves - a lot of empty space behind the bar makes me hope that they may expand their tap list once they get off the ground - very small food menu (bagels and burritos), but they let you bring in your own food (plenty of great restaurants on 17th) - I love this place - it isn’t a spot where you can geek out and get some ticks in, but if you like coffee and want to sample some beers from the smaller breweries in town, this is a good spot.
