No Longer In Business

Visited August 2016 with beery friends. Placed at the main station easy to find. Theme of the pub is travelling and few cycles as well. Cosy atmosphere for a train station pub, friendly service and a good selection of beers served in good condition. Free WiFi. Would love to spend a bit longer time there at my next visit.

Visited in August 2016. Didn’t get a very comprehensive view of this place as we just bolted in with 15 minutes until our train, spotted a Lazy Lizard beer (the only one we’d seen on our Brighton visit), grabbed that and took our leave. Definitely promising and rather decent for a station bar. More detailed review next visit.

The Cyclist is on the right hand side of the station as you walk in, near the taxi ranks, in the old refreshment rooms. It is soon to be increased in size, so will be the most dominant unit of the area. There is an eclectic collection of chairs and tables which makes for a calm and relaxed area from the general hubbub outside. The bar is directly in front of you, which offers a mix of cafe, bar and general refreshment, there are 3 hand pulls with some reasonable keg lines also. There may be some sort of link to Brighton Bier going on, the range of beers are mostly from Sussex and there was a beer festival going during our visit. All in all a good addition to the Brighton scene and a great place for a cheeky pint before the return train journey.
