80 This place is closing as of mid May 2017. I thus won’t go into unnecessary details. |
88 Another Great Erzbierschof Bar,Good Staff nice Beer Selection |
86 Nice place located near the town hall. Not too crowded when we went but there were about 8 or 10 tables and some seats at the bar. Bar tender was very friend and always answered my flawed German in nearly perfect English. They have about a dozen taps and plenty of bottles to choose from. We stayed so long we needed to order some food which was pretty good. I would definitely stop here again. |
76 Update: Closing down, May 2017.
The second location for Erzbierschof in the Bern area (the "original" Erzbierschof is in Liebefeld near Bern), this branch is located in the old town - about half-way from the clock tower and the bear pit (both locations are among the most popular places for tourists, it’s therefore easy to stop by Erzbierschof in between visits to these two spots).
Interior design unfortunately dominated by a fraternity who owns the entire location - sad. Smaller and with fewer (especially bottled) beers to choose from than the "original" Liebefeld Erzbierschof - but there are still 13 taps available, which is the most I can think of for Bern. Can get a little crowded on Friday and Saturday later in the evening. This location also offers some food prepared by the Krone Restaurant which is linked to the Erzbierschof bar by a hallway; most visitors who walk down the main alley (Gerechtigkeitsgasse) will probably see the Krone Restaurant first, Erzbierschof’s Bar is in the back of that building (Postgasse alley exit). |
78 Nice little place near the town hall in the old part of Bern. Person behind the bar knew her beer. Good selection of styles, with a firm European focus, though both traditional and newer tastes.
12 taps, and a decent bottle selection. Prices were the same as back home in Aus, so the most expensive I’ve experienced in Europe so far.
Overall a great place I’m hoping to get back to before we leave Bern. |
86 I get the impression that Toni is single-handedly trying to move the beer scene in Switzerland; the place is not large, it’s right in the old center of Bern, but the interior is modern; a lot of attention in getting good craft beer from everywhere; I ate a plate of charcuterie that kiks ass! Great place for Bern, we had a great time. |
82 Small bar in the old city of Berne. Varying tap beers and some fridges keep the selection interesting. Service is typical for a Erzbierschofbar (i.e. good consulting and pleasant atmosphere). Not too far from the train station, so it’s even possible to drop in for 1 or 2 hours. |
86 Another Erzbierschof bar, this time located right in the centre of Berne. It’s small and cozy, with less taps and less fridges than the other Erzbierschof bars, but very sympathetic and with some treasures to find. Don’t miss out on it when you’re going through Berne! |
86 This is a nice little bar in the heart of Bern. The bartender was super chill (guy with dreadlocks... whatever his name was). The selection was about 50% Swiss micros and then the rest was American and Danish stuff. There were only two other people there when we there, but the atmosphere was very nice. A good experience all around. Pleasant. Plenty of bottles in the fridge as well to amp up the selection even more. |
86 After Liebefeld and Winterthur, this is the third of the great Erzbierschof’s bar, now in the heart of the capital city. Smaller and with a lot of charm. Don’t miss it ! |
